my two cents:

(those who are in US) If you reapply, you have to get FBI clearance again - that's another 2-3 months. And in the meanwhile, you have everything else already in hand, than it's 3 months only before you can reapply. Now, if you reapply from delhi office (or islamabad in my case), that's another 12 months (14 in reality) before the process is complete according to the visa-office time from CIC website. That means a total time of 15-18 months from tomorrow.

I don't know what to do here. Comments? please.

Another thing, anyone else got that kind of reply in email? Visa office discusses statistics in email replies? I have ordered my CAIPS 2 days ago and have sent a case-spec inq. Only then i can see it clearly. What say you guys?

thanks purkoni.. great help.. so i have no option but to wait for my PR ??!! my life has been on hold for soo long , and continues to be :-(

and ghadirrrr: i have the same question.. i'm wondering if being fsw2 made any difference when they opened my file at bfd which was earlier this month .. lets see what my caips notes tell when i reapply tomorrow ..

i say 1- we see if anyone else gets a reply like this - to see if its a legit post from the guy who posted it.

2- reapply for your FBI certs again. I'm sending my fingerprints monday. Just in case CIC asks again. (is this a good idea?)

3- we have already gone through more than a year from application date now. Even if that post is legit, we have another 10 months(?) to go - as opposed to -whatever options you guys have.

Please comment guys.

what i'd like to know is, what they mean by our files going into process 2 years from when we filed it?
most of us are already in process...does that mean they keep us in process for 2 years before getting to our files, determining points and asking for medical and then putting us through security checks?

is that guy in that post talking about buffalo office? and buffalo office only?

CIC still says 17 months.

send case specific inquiry and see what reply you get. I'm waiting for mine.

that reply gave global application numbers.. so it includes buffalo as well.. and apparently that guy was not the only one to get that reply.. someone in dubai forum also got that reply

I doubt if PCC is again needed. Earlier these applications used to take 5-8 years.

I am not convinced that CIC gives the numbers and the process. They are always having those details classified. If they publish numbers then there will be a outrage form people across .. then media will take no time to make it a headline.

Generally the time line is fake. I was told 18 months on my AOR , but right now i have past 19 months and no sing even only of medical. So time line is of no use.

IN my opinion, the mail has nothing to do. It might still be processed earlier, the best thing is to wait.

Things are going start moving fast in May and June. After all Post June applicants and not so many so we pre-June will also be processed, latest for us to g et visas should be in 2012.
Wish us good luck.

ya - i have seen those numbers somewhere myself on CIC website - can't remember where. (unless i'm confusing up something). I thought it was from before sometime though. Oh i don't know.

Time line is for "most Applications" or as they call it "80% processed" in a time frame. But what Ive seen so far is 80% NOT processed.

Not much we (or I) can do at this point in applic. process. Whole friggin life's on hold for this thing all I know.

I am reposting one of my previous posts regarding CIC regulating year 2011 intake.

vermas said:
Important to note from the following link that CIC is planning to take 74,000 - 80,400 FSW applicants (including PAs and dependants) in the year 2011, which could be the reason for slowdown as they have to regulate the number of new entrants.

That post is from "zakout76", a London VO candidate. I think Dubai files are also handled at London VO. I have no doubt about "zakout76" post considering the format/language of the letter. He will not make it up. His English language skills are not that great (no offence pls, this is the fact and you will agree with it if you read his posts).

My application was received at CIO in Nov 2009. It has already been 18 long months, whereas, at that time timeline was 6-8 months. This Canadian PR business has put my life on hold. Can't enrol for MBA in my home country, can't change job in anticipation of PR, left C$ 19,000 which I earned while I was on PGWP in Canada in a bank there as POF, can't plan marriage (I am in that age group) etc.

What happened to the Ministrial Instruction of that time to complete the process in 12 months? No credibility. They announce new changes only to create another category of backlogs.

Good luck to all.
