Hi Simp,
Office name is : CIC Office, Toronto (google it to get the actual location, near by St-clair subway station). There is no separate department, as soon as you go there, you have to take your number from a machine and wait for you turn. Once they call your number, you can go to the officer and explain him/her about your situation. Try to impress the officer, like you don't know any thing about your application status and mention him the time frame of your application (like 16 months for my case). Then they will take a look at your application either by your client id or file #.

Hey seven, have you ordered CAIPS??.. It would be interesting to find out if your caips notes indicates transfer of your file to detroit....I have ordered mine on the last week of march...

yes, I ordered my caips on 3rd week of march and hoping to get in next week or so...yes it will be interesting to see caips notes..

Hello,

I am silent observer of this thread and I have a question:

I have applied under FSW1 category and my visa office is buffalo and received my 2nd AOR in JUNE 2010.

In July, I got new job but the problem is, I have not informed the Buffalo visa office till date. So, Is it advisable to inform the visa office or will it be a negative impact on my file?

I would suggest you to update new development to VO, because all your detail submitted in you file are locked & processing of your file would be based on that info. So you do not need to worry if you have changed the job.
And another reason why you should update VO is because, what if you get interview call, at that time you would need to share about you, and either you would need to lie or share such progress that time.
What if in background check they call your employer and come to know you are no longer working there but you have not informed them.
Last suggestion - Ask same question in NEW thread, so that all other members can reply to your question. This thread is mostly visited by Buffalo 2010 applicants (and not by most experienced people who are not Buffalo applicants.).

Now I am feeling bit uncomfortable; how much time I (we) need to wait for medical request? I got my 2nd AOR in April 2010; so one year is already up.... :'( :'( :'(

has anyone heard of people doing medicals before getting the request to speed up the process??....Since I am in toronto, and its been 12 months since 2nd AOR from buffalo, I figured I might as well do the medicals before they request it to speed up the process.... anyone heard negative feedback from VO on people doing this?

it is not possible, VO sends the forms or some docs, applicant needs to take those forms/docs with them while medical...
so if someone does medical without those docs/forms (before medical request from VO), then that won't serve the purpose.

Sounds tempting... but that don't solve the main issue, getting medical request from Buffalo VO... if someone does medical before getting medical request; that would complicate the situation.
people like me are hoping for medical request & down fall is that then situation would get even verse; we would start waiting for medical badly... in my case I need to spend US$1350 (for 3 people) or more... so do not want to go for medical & keep praying for having medical request from VO before (already done) medical gets expired.... I won't recommend (just personal choice)...

dude i have no idea what is going on in VO ... ... interview was waived jan 17 and i was asked some additional docs that reached VO march 7 ... the jan 17 letter said "medical request to follow"

march 7 until today ... 37 days ... and no "to follow" in sight ... i sent an inquiry but no response ... i check my mailbox twice a day
