It is evident that the job market in Canada is not good. I am just wondering what about health and Safety jobs? Here in USA most of the companies have a safety department especially industries. What about Canada? In case if someone do not get a job, then is there any governmental support for new permanent residents?
I know its kind of too far of thinking ... just to be prepared in mind..
Very well explained balu0427 ... Good job!balu0427 said:no, its good that you are thinking far ahead, atleast you have a plan
i agree that the job market is not good as once it was. I live in NB province which is in Atlantic Canada (they call it that way), i came to Canada on a workpermit, then my wife moved as a dependent and tried to find a job (we both are in IT field, she worked as a Sr. Quality Analyst in India). it took her 8months time to find a job despite having certifications, good knowledge, experience in her kitty.
then my mind started to see the other side of the coin, in case if we do not have a job or lost the job then what... i asked the Canadian folks and they told me that they have Employment Insurance (called as EI) which they will pay us. but here is the trivia... this EI is actually paid by us as a tax deduction every month from our salary. so, they will pay you this (i say refund) money in parts (or percentages) which you have already paid.
so for new permanent residents, as you are not earning anything and not paying this EI, i doubt Canadian Govt pays this to you.
i learnt from senior folks in this forum, that this is the reason that Canadian Immigration needs proof of funds as a financial support to self.
seniors, correct me if i am wrong anywhere
I just want to share my experience herebalu0427 said:no, its good that you are thinking far ahead, atleast you have a plan
