If she applies for a visitor visa and gets accepted to visit here can I then apply for an inland PR once she is in Canada?
If this is the case can anyone give me info about going this route to get her here?

Thanks.

Even if she is admitted on a TRV you should still apply outland. It is much faster, and allows an appeal if you end up with a refusal. It also allows her to leave Canada without affecting her application.

I agree with ImABule ;)

Forget inland, always go with outland. At least when she has a TRV, she has the benefit of being able to see you while getting shorter processing times, and not being restricted to stay in Canada.

Outland is great IF you don't get chosen for an interview (have a very strong and straightforward case). Then for the Singapore office, which does Thai applicants, the wait could be 29 months.

The wait is not actually that long, despite what the interview letter says. Many Singapore VO applicants who contact me and post on the forums indicated to me that the real wait time is more like 12-15 months.

However you also have to realize that if an applicant is refused after the interview on an inland application, he/she cannot appeal. Inlanders also must remain in Canada the entire time (can't tell you how many people I see here regret it since they cannot leave for family emergencies or vacation).

The 29 months he's referring to is the listed Thailand process time not the interview wait time.

The 29 months include the waiting time for the interview.

The 29 months is just the posted processing time for Thailand. It means that 80% of applications are processed within that time period. It's misleading of course, because most applications won't take nearly that long.

Thank you all for the replies.
So we should do the Outland process then?
Sorry but I'm so confused and all we want is to be together asap. We know that there's a process but the being apart is killer.
Here is what we have planned so far.
I am going back to Thailand to get the marriage certicate and registered in Thailand and then converted to English for when I come home.
Then I will be returning once again in January for our wedding. After that we are lost as to what we should do next. Or is there anything we can do in between those dates.
Sorry for all the questions.
If there's anyone here who's been through this with a Thai wife or husband I would really like to talk to them.

Thanks.

Yes please go for outland. I think what you're doing in coming back to Thailand multiple times will help strengthen your case, as you have to overcome your quick courtship.

Make sure you get lots of pics with you and her family. Any reason your folks cannot make it to the wedding?

I can answer your question ;)
First step, getting married with certificate: if you had been married before you'll need your divorce paperwork. Before getting married you will need an affidavit from the canadian ambassy in bangkok saying that you are single and can marry. Then you will make the affidavit and your divorce paperwork translate in thai. After that you will go to the ministry of foreign affair of thailand to notarize your translated document. Then you can go to marriage and divorce office to get married :) you will need 2 witness and you have to do it before before noon. They dont do "farang" marriage in the afternoon. When you get your certificate translate back in english.
Advice: do everything in Bangkok and plan 3-4 day there.
For translation i'll send you contact information of the office who did mine. They have an awsome service. I'm away from home for an another week. I'll give it to you when i'll be back home.
After the traditional wedding you will have to translate all her document(birth certificate, house registry, marriage certificate, last name change certificate, etc). Then you complete the OUTLAND APPLICATION ;). Take your time to build a good one. For us we work on it almost 2 month
Feel free to ask me any question for the next steps ;)

Thank you! That means a lot to me. I hope the entire Singapore family gets through, and sooner than later of course ;)

Ok thanks for the info.

My father passed away a few years ago and my mother will not get into a plane.
I have asked a couple friends for to attend but I'm not counting on it. I did read somewhere that I can get supporting letters stating they know about her and how much I love her. This is another reason I want her to come here and meet everyone before the wedding. But I'm afraid she will get denied and weaken our case for her PR.
