Bridging open work permit refused !!!

I checked my email today to check my BOWP status online . Upon checking my status , it says BOWP refused . :-\

The reason they gave is as follows :

You have failed to meet the eligibility requirements for a bridging open Work Permit because

you have not provided a copy of a valid PNP certificate. For further details on eligibility

requirements please see our website at

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/permit/extend/permanent.asp.

I read from the forum that i need to attach my AOR to get the BOWP. I was contemplating attaching PNP certificate as well but there was just one attachment allowed . So I attached the AOR. This was a grave mistake as i should have searched further on how to attach additional documents .

Should I now involve my immigration agent to apply the BOWP for me ? or just resubmit application with PNP certificate . My existing bowp is expiring on 15 jan 2017. Please advise .

Resend and apply again, attached ur nomination if u have anf if its expired u have to renew nd have ur emoloyer pay for compliance fee.

And you will br ok. If that's ur case

that is NOT correct for a BOWP !!!!
1. it is not necessary to renew/extend your PNP-nomination certificat for BOWP
2. you don't need a employer for BOWP

Note: If you applied under the Provincial Nominee Program, you must not have employment restrictions as conditions of your nomination.

If you applied under the Provincial Nominee Program, you must also include a copy of your nomination letter.

If you apply for your work permit online, upload the above document(s) in the Letter of Explanation slot
in the document checklist.

and for all suporting documents it is the easiest way is
to create a doc-document put allsuporting documents in and export it as a PDF-document

Yes , this is what I am planning to do . I will create one pdf file , which will include both nomination and Aor letter in one pdf and then I will upload in letter of explanation section . Hopefully this would suffice (but to be on safe side , I might ask consultant to apply on my behalf -although he will charge me at least $500) .

I applied for every WP by myself and for the PR-application too

If you could see a consultant it's at your benefit .$500 is nothing compared to what you have to pay when you make error .I did a lot of errors so please do see a consultant

I have not got any email regarding AOR. But it shows review of eligibility in process. Even if i go to check my status online. it says We received your application for permanent residence on June 27, 2016.We started processing your application on October 17, 2016. I too need to apply for BOWP soon. what would i submit as a copy of Acknowledgment of Receipt letter? ???

I applied myself last night itself (I wanted to save time and money plus my consultant is a real slow processor).

Hopefully , I will get BOWP this time (I attached PNP certificate , AOR , PNP support letter and result will come around 30 November 2016) .

If not , I will finally engage a consultant (he will re-apply around first week of December and result will come first week of January leaving me a cushion as my work permit expires 15 January 2017, if there is still any chance of problem -then I will go back to my country as I am fed up with the slow processing and every day wait and uncertainty-why can not the immigration officer just ask me to submit additonal documents to get BOWP , well the reason I hear is because they want to be efficient , if that is the reason , I would count on really putting input control on applications , where the candidate is not able to submit the application without uploading all the needed documents ! This indeed will make applications get processed faster !)


I know it begs the question that why didn't I engage a consultant right now - Reason is that I already paid him around $4000 for Permanent residence application and it is because of him that I am in this stage that I have to apply Bridging open work permit -He promised me to convert my BCPNP paper to express BCPNP in order to make me eligible for express entry, but failed to do so and as a result I got paper based BCPNP which sucks big time as it processes in 14 months ).

I have one more question for the forum members , My bowp was declined based on non attachment of PNP certificate , my question is that PNP certificate had expired on 30th September 2016 ?

Although , I have re applied by attaching both AOR and PNP certificate , however this question still haunts me ?

Hey did they give you a year long WP or more ?

My OWP ends march 1st next year and I am eligible to apply for the Closed WP because I have the support letter.

But I am contemplating on applying for the OWP when I receive my AOR. Just incase I felt like changing jobs.

They extended my work permit for one more year . From Nov 16- Nov 17.

However , my current Work permit is valid till 15 Jan 2017. I applied in Nov 16 since I didn't want to wait until last moment. So practically, I got 10 months extension.

so that means even though ur pnp certificate is expired they will approve bowp !!! We Don't need to renew pnp certificate or any kind of support letter from pnp?
