Hi Everyone,
On Monday, November 9th, 2015, at the Law Society of Upper Canada's Immigration Law Summit, two CIC representatives provided updated instructions with regards to Bridging Open Work Permit eligibility and the use of the initial Acknowledgement of Receipt letter (PDF) as sufficient proof.
They stated that the initial AOR letter sent to the applicant after submission of their e-APR can now be used in order to obtain a Bridging Open Work Permit pursuant to s.205(a) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations.
I wanted to share this with everyone as I know this as been a point of great confusion for everyone involved: applicants, representatives and even CIC employees.
I've attached a Screenshot that was provided to us.
