1. Have CSQ
2. PR application status: in process (got AOR)
3. Work permit will expire: February 2018

Official answer is no.
However, some have managed to get it, others not. Most people don't even try. How? Dunno. You have to get lucky. Hope that your application will be processed by an agent that does not know that CSQ holders do not qualify for open work permit, or decides to be nice for some other reason.

I am an inland CSQ applicant. My temporary work permit will expire on October 2018. I am waiting for my CSQ after submitting checklist documents recently. MIDI has been delaying CSQ even for inland regular applicants since 2017.

So assuming the worst case that I don't get CSQ or some screw ups happen, How can I renew my temporary work permit ? I have a closed work permit with LMIA from my current employer with NOC 2173.

What is the process to renew my temporary work permit without having CSQ ?

I don't mind a closed work permit and I am planning to stick with my current employer for a very long time.

Hi all,

I have closed workpermit which is valid upto August 2019 and I would like to make it as open workpermit. I just googled some information on this and I understand that only whose current workpermit is going to expire within 4 weeks are eligible to apply.

In my case I have valid for more than 1 years should I try for applying. Please advice
