Ok No one took the pain to answer to my question. I went to the medical center where i did my medical examination and they gave me the information sheet and that's exactly what I am suppose to attach for this bridge work permit application. The medical center ppl know a lot about immigration and they helped me understand about this.

Did you success to apply BOWP?

Hi law_uqam,

Thanks for sharing your experience getting your open work permit in Quebec. Just to verify: Did you submit a "letter of employment" and/or did your employer pay the employer compliance fee as part of your open work permit application?

Your input is much welcome. I hold the CSQ, submitted my PR-application to Sidney, completed medical, and have implied status currently with an open work permit application pending to which I could now join the CSQ.

You can find a list of possible work permits here:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/apply-who-permit.asp

For CSQ holders, there are two possibilities:
- Apply for LMIA (variation for minimum advertising: https://www.canada.ca/en/employment-social-development/services/foreign-workers/variations.html?=undefined&wbdisable=true), then get a closed work permit.

- Apply for a closed work permit with LMIA exemption (exemption code A 75: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/temp/work/quebec/renewal.asp). You can get this goodie even at the canadian border.

The people resorting to getting LMIA are the ones who don't hold a valid work permit at the moment of application of A75 work permit.

No bridge work permit exists to my knowledge.

Hi,
I have an AOR and planning to apply for a bridge permit.
Can anyboby tell me if i have to apply for my spouse and my kids as well or can i just apply for my ownself.
If i apply for my ownself alone, what will happen to my family who got their work and study permits based on my previous permit.
Would appreciate if anyone can revert back.

Hi guys,

My OWP expires in 9 days and I had applied for Bridge Work Permit application a month ago, but today I got a notification in my CIC account saying the application has been refused :(

Can someone please help me ? I am working in Montreal at the moment..

Thanks a lot guys, looking forward to someone helping me out.
What did you provide specifically as the documents to apply for your Work Permit extension??
What happened afterwards, did you try again? or you stay here as a Visitor??

I called CIC today and confirmed with the agent that CSQ holders are eligible to apply for a renewal of their Work Permit of Open (not the Closed Work Permit) without requiring the employer to pay Compliance fee etc, and she further provided me with the following information:

Work permit extensions for some CSQ holders residing in Quebec

If you have a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ) and you are currently residing in Québec, you may be eligible to extend or renew your work permit without having to obtain a Labour Market Impact Assessment and a Certificat d'acceptation du Québec.

To verify your eligibility: Our website will provide you with more information on the eligibility criteria for this exemption.

Useful tips

  • The application is available on our website.
  • The work permit issued is employer-specific.
  • Your spouse or common-law partner is entitled to an open work permit for the same duration as your work permit with a maximum duration of 2 years.

Hello,

thanks for the reply. I have the following queries:

1. What are the papers I have to submit for that?
2. I believe the Online application is faster. If I apply online, will I have to send documents by mail or I can upload them?
3. Would you please give me the link for online application?

My current status:
1. Have CSQ
2. PR application status: in process (got AOR)
3. Work permit will expire: February 2018
