BOWP - September 2015 Applicants

You extend it, because you had a closed one before. I know this "new employer"-thing sounds confusing at first, but I have been through this process before, trust me. I applied for my second one. Take a look at the application form, as well, so you will what I mean.

Looks like they changed the BOWP requirements for old CEC applicants. Previously they asked that Eligibility status as passed in GCMS and I don't see that now. I hope they process BOWP applications fast.

That's been a long discussion in another thread. Look for BOWP rules changed here under CEC. Never mind, September should not be affected.

I followed that thread when they changed on December 1st, but haven't checked recently. thanks.

It has title as "Extend your work permit – Economic class applicants" which is for people who applied PR under Economic class and want to apply for their BOWP. And also notice it has Last Modified as December 15, 2015.

It has Title as "International Mobility Program: Provincial nominees and permanent residence applications – Bridging open work permits for certain federal economic class applicants", so basically it is for PNP people and people who applied for PR in Federal Economic Class. It has last modified as December 1, 2015.

I applied for my BOWP for my wife and I in September 2015. I know we are both eligible for one year on the BOWP as I have completed my 3 years on the post graduate work permit- my spouse is on my dependent.

Looking at the current timelines, my hunch is I may have to apply for a second BOWP sometime next year if CEC still holds me up and there is no decision made. This is the worst case scenario , I want to be prepared for.

Can you please advise if I will get a second BOWP , if so then for what duration after completing 4 full years of work in Canada

If your PR application is not processed by the expiry date of your first BOWP, then yes you can apply for second BOWP. Until your PR application is in processing you can apply for new BOWP, until unless they change some rules. But as of current rules you will get it.

guys my frnd sent her paper applciation for her 2nd bowp in nov but she lost the tracking no or she thought she got one but actually didnt now she is not sure if her application has been delivered to the address n her current bowp is expiring nxt month can she send an email or call or confirm that cic has receveid her application? if yes if anyone can please provide the email or the phone number
