Application got approved today. Waiting for actual permit now. Feel relived

Yes I did , may 15th I applied.

My application got approved yesterday. May 15 online application. All the best guys.

Really regretting not applying in paper - it seems so much quicker. I applied July 5th Online :-(

Absolutely insane - what is the point in having a bridging visa that you can only apply for when you have four or less months left on your visa and then they take almost FIVE months to process.

I'm so angry about this. I need to travel internationally for work the month after my current permit expires and now will most likely have to cancel due to likely being on implied status. Ridiculous.

Hi everybody,
I was so anxious during this process and reading your experiences have helped a lot, today we got wonderful news from cic. Our wp was approved, we applied on May 30, so around 149 days for approval. So I guess now end of May applications are being finished, now we just need to keep waiting for our PR :D
THANK YOU so much for being such an amazing community, good luck to everyone!!! <3

As the one who started this thread, I'll give my update. I applied jointly with my wife on May 28. Two days ago (Oct 15) my wife's BOWP was finally approved! :D At the same time, mine was cancelled. ::)

However, I was expecting mine to be canceled. In mid-September I was working in Canada on implied status and still waiting for my BOWP, and at the time it was looking like a never-ending wait. Then something came up where I really needed my health coverage. Imagine my chagrin when I found out there is NO health coverage while on implied status. My employer offered to give me a new work permit to get my health coverage back, and since I didn't know how long I was going to have to wait for my BOWP I decided to take the new work permit and sacrifice my BOWP. It would have been another long month with no health coverage otherwise. At least my wife now has her BOWP, which I'm happy about.

Being on implied status is a risky thing. No health coverage and you can't leave the country or you lose all status. If CIC just processed the BOWP in a timely manner it wouldn't be much of a risk, but we all know that CIC processing tends to be anything but timely. Anyway, at least we know that BOWPs will be processed, eventually. My wife's took 141 days.

I applied online on May08, and none of my online status has changed since then. I have actually gotten by PR already on Sept05 and I requested a refund on my BOWP on Oct08, and there is still no reply.

MAY 31st BOWP applicant here, STILL WAITING despite this update online:

Work Permit Extension
(same employer) 118 days June 19, 2015 132 days June 5, 2015

We lost $5,500 on a vacation on October 18th due to being on implied status and having no BOWP processed nor our PR (May 30th 2014 CEC).

This is a joke, there is nothing we could do but sit back and say goodbye to our money, amex etc wouldn't cover us as they don't cover immigration related issues.

Still waiting..........

Deany,

I am on the same timeline as you (june 1st online applicant), called up the agent today and they told me, it is unusual that your application was not touched. He promised to send a note for the concerned team about this, usually they would reply in a day or two in the best case.. So I would suggest you to call them...
