I got my BOWP today for my wife and myself!

I submitted the application on September 20th!

I am very happy! And relaxed (did not have the AOR at time of applying)!

My friends, never give up and I wish good luck to everyone else who is still waiting!

In that case go for single entry and save $75.
Thank you Dimma. I also called the call center, and the agent said the similar thing.

Have a petty doubt:

Where should i send the BOWP application?

Citizenship and Immigration - Work Permit
CPC-Vegreville
6212 - 55th Avenue, Unit 202
Vegreville, AB
T9C 1X6

or

Citizenship and Immigration - Work Permit
CPC-Vegreville
6212 - 55th Avenue, Unit 555
Vegreville, AB
T9C 1X6

Thanks for your help!!

Does the bowp work permit come through the Canada Post system?

I was approved for it last friday and I haven't seen it in the mail, but I am on the other end of the coutnry (Victoria, BC).

Don't think it matters. However, I remember to applicants saying they sent to Unit 202
and also got a response letter from that address.

Should I be concerned that the processing times and the "Working on applications submitted on" dates don't match? (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp.asp)

e.g.

Work Permit (same employer) - Paper Application
Processing times 65 days
Working on applications submitted on August 13, 2013
Last update: October 23, 2013

But there are 71 days between those dates, not 65.

Are they saying they're more optimistic about processing times for applications submitted now?

The processing times are just guidelines - I wouldn't worry.

Hi Malko

Congrats. Can you please clarify the below? Your help is much appreciated.

1) Was your current WP valid for more than 4 months when you applied BOWP?
2) What is the time gap that you took for applying BOWP after you submit your PR application?
3) Was your AOR ready by the time you got your BOWP?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Cheers,
Kunishsa

Quick question for you guys, I will be applying for the BOWP on December 6th.
I'm on vacation in the US for two weeks over Christmas and New Years and my current WP is valid until
March 2014.
How does the BOWP application process work? I'm from a visa exempt country. How do I receive the BOWP?
Is it going to be email or mail?
In case I get the BOWP while I'm in the US, can I enter with my old WP and then flagpole to activate the new one?

Thanks guys!

Hi All, I applied for Open WP on 18th Sep and so far there is no reply through Email/Post. Any Idea how can I follow-up on that ?

As you have quite a bit of time, why don't you apply when you're back?
My understanding is you get email confirmation and then the paper work permit is sent via post.
I don't believe you need to flagpole, but I could be wrong on that

I will probably have to wait and apply later, if no one else can confirm that I'm able to re-enter Canada
on my 'old' WP.
I just like to get the BOWP asap, as I'm not too pleased with my current job 8)

Could someone who recently received the BOWP shed some light on this??

1) No.
2) 35 days.
3) Checked the dates - only 1 day difference between AOR and BOWP.

Let me know if I can help further!

Thanks!

Thanks a lot for your reply. Congrats once again.

In my case, My current WP validity is more than 4 months and I am expecting my AOR in next 10 days. My CC was charged on 23rd October, 2013. I need my BOWP so badly before 20th December, 2013. So I am confused on whether to go for it now or after getting the AOR.

Anyway thanks once again for your help.

Wait until your work permit has less than four months remaining, and you have received your AOR. If your AOR is only ten days away, then you will have more than enough time to apply for the BOWP before your current permit expires.
