BOWP - How many of you have applied and received it successfully?

BOWP for me and SOWP for my wife have been approved today.
Waiting for the hard copy.
Timelines: october --3rd
Approved: October 20th

Are there any members on this forum who have applied for a BOWP after receiving AOR through CEC and have obtained it successfully since it was launched? Can you folks please enlighten us as some members recently shared their stories of rejection going with the assumption that the AOR qualifies as pass for BOWP.

They updated the time lines on CIC.. its now 22 days for online applications

Got my BOWP in the mail.. I assume it arrived on Friday, October 17th 2014 but i only checked on the 18th 2014.

I had applied via paper based application on August 21, 2014.... I did it without an AOR at the time and to date still did not receive an AOR... So i guess Luck and prayers played a big part... They had issued the Work Permit on Sept 26, 2014 for 1 year.... I guess there was a mailing delay....

Congrats, shuggzz!! This gives me some hope that my BOWP will come soon. I applied without an AOR as well just after you did and have been waiting very nervously...

keep praying and keep the faith...no one knows how CIC works for sure. Do not look at the processing time.

This is my timeline:
FSW PR applic. received: June 2nd '14
cc charged: 18th Sept
BOWP applic recvd: 7th Oct (online without PER as @ then)
PGWP expires: 29 oct
PER email recvd: 14 oct
BOWP Online status "Approved": 20 Oct

But mycic tool is also generating my application again with family.

How can I generate code only for spouse and child? through online tool.

In my case last year, I had created two myCIC accounts. One for my wife and another one for myself. It worked for me. We both got our BOWPs without any issues. However I am not sure if there is a better way to apply for our family.

I had a question in regards to my work permit ext appl approval. I submitted the appl via online on sept 16 and luckily my work permit is expiring by oct 18; I got my nomination last august and did not submit pr application till sept 16 (by reg post) same time when I submit wp ext via online. I tried first time to apply wp ext attaching my nomination cert but was rejected. this time they approved it, i just provide them info that I forwarded my pr app and a job offer from my employer.

permit-wp/ext/permis-pt-pror validity till 10/01/2016


My question is, those who had experience, do you think this is open work permit? I was not sure bcoz the validity is up to 2 yrs or they just base on the 2 yrs job offer. I am awaiting for the hard copy they will send out.

I applied for my spouse with my appliation only.
So i attached my explanation letter only that includes these lines for my spouse

"I am also making an application for Open Work Permit for my Spouse (name, D.O.B: , UCI: ) based on my issued Bridge Open Work Permit. She is on visitor visa and it will expire on xxxxx.

We hereby promise to leave Canada before the expiry of the issued Bridge Open Work Permit and issued Spousal Open Work Permit if a decision is yet to be taken on my PR application by then".

HI I am apply BOWP for the first time and also spouse open permit. Can you please guide me which documents I need to have and also is medicals required because if I am applying online it is asking for medicals for my wife..

Hi guys,

I have received an email from CIC that my BOWP has been mailed.

But the email says "This letter is not valid for travel and is not a permit allowing you to remain in Canada."
What this means? Do I need an additional visa to stay here?? I am from a visa exempt country.
