BOWP - How many of you have applied and received it successfully?

looks from the previous posts that 4 months has become a hard and fast rule..what in case a temporary worker gets laid of say somewhere in june july? even though he has a closed work permit and trv until 2015 jan? can one apply for bowp explaining the case? if yes what are the chances of approval?

I applied for exactly that. not laid off but changing employer. the closed work permit is not valid anymore after March 2014 so my lawyers filed for BOWP with a cover letter asking for "functional equivalent" of 4 month or less.
Let's see what the outcome will be. According to the lawyer who spoke to a VO it has a 50:50 chance

oh can u plz share when did you apply for bowp? is one eligible for EI in such a case? can one stay in canada on the basis of a trv?

A gud news... we ( me and my wife) got our BOWP today afternoon..

CEC applied: Nov 25th 2013
Visa expiring:Jan 5th 2014
BOWP applied: Jan 3rd 2014 without AOR (paper based application)
CC charged: Jan 8th 2014
AOR received:Jan 10th 2014
Finally BOWP received : Feb 14th 2014..

Thanks for this forum and support guys.. It was the time were we lost all the hopes and was just thinking what to do and just found this forum which helped us a lotttttt...Thanks a ton!!

A gud news... we ( me and my wife) got our BOWP today afternoon..

CEC applied: Nov 25th 2013
Visa expiring:Jan 5th 2014
BOWP applied: Jan 3rd 2014 without AOR (paper based application)
CC charged: Jan 8th 2014
AOR received:Jan 10th 2014

If u'r applying without AOR number just do paper application so that you can buy sometime to get u'r AOR by then..If u have all the documents in hand then go for online..its processing time is within 10 days..good luck..

I Know it says 54 days when i checked the processing time,but usually i dont think they even update it correctly in it..I just followed this forum and ppl who applied before with same process and were getting some were within 40 to 45 days..I was lucky enough and got it it 39days..

processing time is longer. At the moment they state it is 19 days. I applied Feb 3rd and if I am lucky I will get an answer by Friday 28th or so

It all burns down to luck, when I applied the processing time was 21 days, however I got mine approved in 6 and had the
work permit in the mailbox a couple of days after approval.

hmm that's fine. then the section " working on applications submited on XX" is misleading ...
