Hey everyone,
I'm sponsoring my husband, I sent the application on July 19th and by Aug 30th i had received a letter saying that i was approved as a sponsor and the application had been sent to Bogota. (is there anywhere we can check the process of the app?) i think the next step is wait and see if he gets called for an interview?) When we sent the application, we sent his police records from Colombia, med exams and everything was notarized. i know its been only two months since the letter from Mississauga but i am going crazy already. He has lived in Canada before and in the US (he was a minor) Does he need police records from there? Will they ask for them?
thankssss
Welcome! Good to hear that you were approved for stage 1. Processing in Bogota can take up to 16 months, however typical processing times for "standard" applications is about 10 months, so be prepared for a long wait! You likely won't hear anything from Bogota for 3-4 months. It took us just over 4 months to get an AOR from Bogota.
You can check the status of your application on eCas (Electronic Client Application Status). Here is the link.

You need police certificates from each country your husband has resided in for more than 6 months, AFTER age 18, so he will likely not require ones from Canada or the US if he was under 18 while living there. Here is the link with that information
