Thats the date we all can start applying from but we need to see the updated documents and guidelines on the CIC website before applying.

To clarify: The changes are not becoming effective before Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is October 9th. The changes become effective on October 11th.

"Citizenship requirements for physical presence, language and knowledge will change on October 11. You can apply for citizenship under the new rules using updated forms available October 11."

2. been physically in Canada for at least 183 days during any four calendar years that are fully or partially within the six years before you apply

Most probably! It during the weekends, and if possible during long weekend, that they normally undertake major IT rollouts. Just IT talk...

Assuming the forms will come out on Oct 11 but the docs will most likely remain the same, so we can get them ready.
