I asked because someone else said 3/4 on here too, so I was wondering if I was missing something. Having said that, it would make sense if they consider partial implementation when the bill is ready. In other words, rather than switching back to 3/5 at once, it may be a better idea to make the transfer gradual, for example, 3.9/5 for the first month, then 3.8/5 for the second month ... until they reach 3/5. Not sure if it will help avoid backlogs or just complicate life for everyone though :)
there will be blood in the CIC offices ... because their heads would just explode when dealing with this type of rules

If bill c6 passes , as mentionned on the bill several section of it will come into force at separate moments but the 3/5 rule very likely to be the last one implemented

Does everyone seriously think they would care about the backlog after C-6? Why would they care?

This is the last thing they would care of. I'm no longer keen to see neither 3/5 nor pre-PR accepted - at least in a few years time.

I guess it's their plan for the next election in 2019. Approve mass new citizens just before the election so they can get votes from them.

And how many pissed off new citizens would voted for them, given how they were screwed by their empty promises?

I think you are overthinking it. I doubt they are planning that much or that far, they simply do not care and are taking their time with a bill that is probably the least important on their plate. I just hope people learn from this experience, and remember this when they are voting in the next and future elections. Everyone likes to speak of Libs as the good guys, but it was JT who gave them that image recently. Their history is loaded with corruption and scandals.

You make a good point, they would not care about the backlog, the only victim is the applicants who have to wait longer.

Not just history, take a look at Ontario ...

Oh well, so why bother then, by the time everybody affected already became eligible under 4/6 rules. This is how a promise by Liberal can be trusted!

There is a Senate sitting today for anyone interested in listening to it. The details are below:

Description: Senate sitting no. 74
Location: Senate Chamber, Centre Block
Scheduled: Tuesday, Nov 22, 2016
2:00 PM - 6:00 PM EST

Information website: http://senparlvu.parl.gc.ca/XRender/en/PowerBrowser/PowerBrowserV2/20161122/-1/6332

I agree deerestlovelybear. Maybe we affected should stop following this bill... keep quite and shut up.

May be we all should write to the new senators as well.

They also skipped C-6 today....... All those who are affected, you may better stick to 1460 days.

I like this idea and was also thinking this way back logs could be regularized ...
