did he check with any stakeholders in Canada when loads of Syrian refugees were brought in in just a few months, regardless whether there were enough resources and facilities for screening and to accommodate them ? It's been a year and half of them are still unemployed and living on welfare, how's that different from conservatives' way of doing things?

If Canadian employers were less racist and xenophobic they would have jobs. These people were in a friggin war zone, what do you want to discuss while they are in immediate danger without any resource ?

I agree with your second point, but I wouldn't blame the Canadian employers like you did. Many of these individuals do not speak good enough English/French to get a job. The second major issue is that the job situation is not that great in Canada, basic jobs are competitive to get. The reason I said basic jobs is because even if some refugees might be qualified for skilled jobs, their qualifications most probably will not be accepted by employers here; an issue every skilled immigrant to Canada had to experience at some stage . But as far as transparency and equality is concerned, I must admit the Canadian employment sector is the least xenophobic or racist in the West (I do not know about Australia and New Zealand though).

Some CBP officers make their decisions based on personal opinions. I assume in your friend's case the CBP might have considered renouncing US citizenship an insult to Americans or something.

I think that is a bit of the case. But I suspect what aggravated the situation is that my buddy has a bit of an temper and likely mouthed off a bit at the officer when he was being questioned.

Oh if you watch those border security shows, that is the worst thing one could do. Any sign of attitude, nervousness or agitation triggers CBP officers!

They may be the least xenophobic or racist ones, but they still are... The refugees just want to live in dignity for a laps of time before going back to their homes if it's possible. I really don't understand those Canadians who keep complaining about how 'their' tax money is used and bring up those refugees as an example. Moreover, he ones who complain the most never met a single one of those refugees.

A Senator (didn't catch his name) is talking about how Senators work well together and have freedom of thought to make their own decisions. He is urging the consideration of interests of minority groups (especially francophone) rather than falling for going with the majority all the time. Kind of indirect response to Senator Frum; or maybe just my way of understanding it.

It still doesn't change the fact the all other years, the numbers have remained the same year by year, until obamacare came along. These people will not want to pay more taxes for obamacare that they won't use. Obamacare will not be "abolished". More like "starved" for funding that it will collapse on its own or revived by a future Dem president.

To be honest we can live with it and wait 12 months more ;D but international students and specially who arrived under category working visa they need bill c6 more than us 8)

C2 and C29 I think it took 12 months until it passed 3rd reading or 2nd reading, I think we are still fine.

Anyways, they can move it to committee and do any amendments they want.

I think liberals are not pushing the bill c6 in order to let cons senators reveal their badness. As for liberal gouvernment they are doing very well, they cant make the changes in 1 day 1 year

Because the Balance of Power is fully red, I expect that Obamacare will be fully destroyed in the next 4 years. The 'good parts will be recycled into what"s gonna replace it (if any).
