Thank you for all your effort guys.. So even the cut off date is one year later, I am still worried that they will apply the C-24 rules retrospectively to un-processed applications before the cut off date.

I will be eligible to apply in Jan. 2015, really don'y want to be ruined by C-24.

Just to make sure, you mean cancel the vacation.. rite?
Yea, i didnt know they did 2:1 ratio for Pre-PR Days.. other wise i would not have extended the stay, then i got stranded at the airport for 2 days bcz i could not get a direct flight... Sucks really! lol >:(

yes cancel its better to be safe than sorry

So, ladies and laddie- Will Mike_045 cancel his vacation? Will he apply on 15 January 2015, 15 June 2015, or ..........? Will he sign his pre-date or post-date his application? Will he have amassed 1,095 or 1,096, or 1,102 days presence in Canada? Will he marry his childhood sweetheart Catherine, from Chatanooga, Tennessee? Will he use blue or black ink to sign his application? Will he utilise Percolator, Federal Express or Canada Post? Will he visit his coiffeur today or next Tuesday? Stay tuned for exciting developments in the life of Mike_045, the man who hijacked the hithertofore C-24 topic chatroom to his own virtual reality show! LOL

Please Guys, Can we please stick to the topic. I know every question is important to someone who is looking for the answer but we have different heading and questions in different sections.

This topic belongs to Bill C-24 and its implications and of course effects on us.

I agree wholeheartedly with Polestar's most courteous admonition. For those who would engage innocent bystanders with their peculiar situations, which relate only tangentially to the chatroom topic, I would suggest that they create a new chatroom. My thanks to those who have adhered strictly to the parametres of the topic, while dispensing invaluable advice and guidance.

How is that possible???? June 20, 2013...........Aug 01, 2015
Does it mean you will be eligible to apply +/- 26 months after landing???? not including your vacation !!

thats 20 days so they are using my half days I had plans to go to 30 days to Europe over the summer but no way cause that will push my application date 60 days further

i can always go next summer
Where u got this from ??? if you spend some time outside Canada AFTER BECOMING PR you do not need to make up double that time. As for that time you spent BEFORE BECOMING PR, yes you need double because every day back then is only 1/2 a day.

I don't understand either, i just used the calculator and this is what is telling me - when i used it last year in December it told me that i would be eligible on July 16 2015 - I am so confused! It looks like its now adding more days..

Guys please advise ,
I did my landing on 5 July 2012 and I was outside Canada for 1 month , so I eligible to apply in 5 August 2015 , as per the new law will come in force 19 July 2015 , is there any evidence that they will put the new law in force on 19 July 2015?? , if yes, can I apply before 19 July 2015 to be under the old law ? please advice

I think the calculator said July 16, 2016 It makes sense if you landed june 2013 and spent 3 or for weeks vacation so 3 years requirements is june 2016 + the few weeks vacation = 16 july 2016
I don't see any other way to explain it

you can alway try but you have a huge chance of getting the application returned

why application returned? landed on 5 July 2012 then should be eligible to apply on 5 July 2013 after meeting the basic residence requirement. Not meeting the physical residence requirement will get your application referred to a judge but why would the application be returned?

Pre-pr time - ps i have been in Canada since Jan 2008 - so its considering pre-pr time - eligible in 2015 not 2016 :'(

Is it true that if I only have one citizenship, Canada cannot revoke mine and create a stateless person?
