I have no experience, but i think as long as you get 67 or higher without the French portion, then you are still okay.

You can send them a letter to say that you decided not to take the TEF. Actually, i dont think you need to do that anyway.

CIC only checks for ministerial list requirements i think.

Looks like. I have always wondered about this point.Although the IELTS speaks of equality all round the world regarding its Exams procedures, strengths and difficulties. (FAQs on the IELTS WEBSITE).

For your Information: Read the statement below. I guess even those who applied before the new rules will be treated according the new rules i.e awarded points for (IELTS).
Note: Visa officers should also assess applications and test reports which pre-date November 28, 2008 against the above correlation table if it is to the applicants advantage, i.e., resulting in more points for language proficiency.

To see the table download op06e from the CIC. There is a a link to it on this forum. I'm sure because I downloaded it via a link from this forum.

CV User, the test still has the same difficulties as it has before, however CIC has reduced the points by .5 in some and increased in listening. You still has to get those points to get highs but now you can do little more mistakes in reading, speaking and writing and less in listening.
