Same here lol...Processing time for step2 was dropped dramatically. It was sitting at 23 months and now it is 17. Keep in mind, 80% of the apps took that long and not 100%

I am happy that it did not take CIC long to approve my step1

ya inshallah everything goes well, we can relate ;) lol

Inshallah.

I check my status every 2 hours or so. I can't help it.
1) Is this everyones first mirage on both sides?
-yes
2) Do we all have the same thing when we check the status? ( part 1: decision made..Part 2: Application received)
-both say that for me

n response to the recent conflict in Lebanon, Citizenship and Immigration Canada introduced new measures to help reunite families who were affected. According to Immigration Minister Monty Solberg, CIC has been giving "priority visa and immigration services to family members of Canadian citizens and permanent residents to help them join their relatives in Canada." This essentially involves the expediting of sponsorship applications under the family class for those directly affected by the conflict in Lebanon. However, the process will still take time, as all requirements must still be met including security and medical criteria.

Sympathetic consideration is also being given to applications from visitors, students and temporary workers from Lebanon seeking to extend their stay in Canada.

It is important to note that the majority of the people displaced by the current conflict are displaced within Lebanon and, as such, are considered internally displaced persons. Such persons are not considered to be refugees, and as such CIC is generally not considering refugee applications from Lebanon, especially given the current ceasefire.

CIC has also sent 34 additional officers, doctors, and support staff to help with consular, visa, and medical services in the region.

Since the ceasefire was implemented August 14th, 2006, CIC’s visa office in Beirut is gradually resuming normal operations. Visa offices in Damascus and Amman are continuing to assist the Beirut office to expedite temporary resident visa applications for residents of Lebanon until further notice.

Hi guys,

I am a new PR in Toronto. Can I send my sponsorship application without wedding photos? I just had Katb-Ktab (religious marriage)at the religious court but the wedding is due in few months. However, I thought may it is possible to start the sponsorship process early.

is it possible to just send photos when we were doing the marriage at the court, of course in addition to other personal photos we had together in picnics and family gatherings ?

thanks

I don't see a problem with that. If you don't show enough proof that your relationship is genuine, they will ask for an interview (therefore save the wedding photos)

So it won't cause the rejection of the application, right?
will the interview be in Beirut? So, do I need to come here to attend it?

honestly, its all about how genuine the relationship looks to them, not everyone wants to have a wedding or has wedding photos, there are many other ways to show its genuine, photos of you two together, gifts you bought for eachother take pics of them, marriage certificate, conversations between you two, phone bills, emails, letters, many other things. at the end of the day if you two are a true couple and the relationship seems legit and true, everything will flow nicely! Good luck

Another question please, I am new in Canada so I don't have a job ir the requested printout-C.

I am including my payslips from Lebanon as well as a paper from ny old employer stating how I paid income tax. In addition, I will include the Canadian Account bank statement and a letter saying I don't have the printout C because I am in the country.

Will these be enough?

Thanks
