GUYS I NEED HELP!

I need someone to confirm if the the new family book of my wife (My name and hers) will work out without the old one (Her named barred from the family book of her parents).
They are giving us really hard time for this stupid process! I want to know if the old family book is really necessary.

When in doubt ask yourself this question: If I was ONLY a Canadian citizen (NOT A DUAL CITIZEN), and I was sponsoring my Lebanese wife, would I have a Lebanese family book? What family book would my wife be able to obtain?

Based on the above reasoning, I deduced they would need her old family book, with her parents.
However, I did send BOTH as I had them, and I suggest you do the same.

Once I was in a contact with a consultant. In order to start the papers he asked for the new family book.
When translated the old family book will not show her name in the translations as it is barred.
Waiting for the papers to arrive from my district to her will take a month or more! (this is why I am into this debate)
After I posted this, And after a lot of search, I found a member who sent only his new one. Unfortunately this member is not active since 2011 so its hard to contact him.
If I were a Canadian citizen her name will not be barred from her old family book. Since I am a lebanese citizen and the marriage is registered in Lebanon her name is barred from her old family book.
All I want if possible, if someone else sent only the new family book to confirm that nothing went wrong.

I would send both. I sent both as well. You would need your wife's family book ( her siblings etc...)
I would wait even if it will take a month. It is better to send a complete application then have something missing that will delay things. Also I don't think they require original copies you can always get your wife to scan it and send it electronically - that will save you some time. Good luck

FYI: When we translated her parent's family book, my wife's line was translated and then the translator drew a line across it (just like it is in arabic).

If something worked for a given person it doesn't mean it'll work for you. Every file is different, and every VO is different. They follow procedure, but sometime, you have a grey area where they can somehow bend the requirements and delay your file for a few month just because they are having a bad day...

I don't know what is your exact situation, so I cannot judge at all, but I am usually able to get such documents within 2-3 days from the "mokhtar".

I strongly suggest you submit both.
Best of luck for your application.

Not yet. It just says "application received" for the PR section.
Although it shows "decision made" for the sponsorship section.

Hi guys

I have the same status for ecase and I got the line " medical results have been received" . I read on Facebook ( on the page for PAFSO) that ottawa immigration officers are also on strike! That sucks and they are not giving a timeline for this strike to end :-(

When did it update to medicals received?
Care to share your timeline?

Regarding the strike, if you check out the cpp-Ottawa thread you'll see that things are moving well regardless of the strike. So I guess it's not that bad for us...

Did u hand in all the papers they requested?

I created a new thread for Beirut applicants in CPP-O. It will help reduce confusion for new applicants that receive stage 1 approval with CPP Ottawa listed as their VO.
