Hi,

Nope, it was closed today. Someone I know went to the embassy and advised that it was closed. Not all holidays are posted on the site, and due to the holiday being accepted in the country the embassy had to respect it. I wouldn't share false information :)

Happy Eid to everyone! Nshallah in this time of grace, the Lord will bestow on all of us peace of mind and joy of heart; and may the Lord reunite all of us with our loved ones (even though I'm with my husband thankfully but half of my heart is still in Beirut because my family is there) and give us the wisdom and patience to understand his ways.
Guys, I'm not here to preach you or be condescending, but I'd thought I'd remind you to enjoy being with your families until the time comes that you are with your partners.
Nshallah, you will hear news about your visas and this chapter of your lives would end.
P.S. Yass asked me to update the chart, please help with any updated info that you might have. Happy Eid again!

Immigration application v/s sponsorship.

Hello,
I have a Canadian permanent residence since 6 months, I am engaged to a beautifull Lady back in Lebanon. My fiance is still at university in Lebanon, finished her first year at the Lebanese University, Educational science, she is 21 years old.
I would like to know, would you recommend that I start her immigration papers right away? or is it better to wait untill we get married (2 years from now) and just go with the sponsorship option?

N.B: I live in Quebec.

Do you mean skilled worker by immigration papers?! The reason why I think you mean this is because you have distinguished between that and "sponsorship option".
In any case, both options won't work at the moment. you must either wait until she graduates for skilled worker (if she qualifies for the new selected occupations) or until you get married (fiancée or conjugal partners isn't a bullet proof process especially for us). Good Luck.

haven't you been reading the threads?! quebec skilled workers applicants, such as myself, have been waiting since forever, 31.5 months and this is after the federal part i am not adding the time i have waited to get the CSQ.. the family sponsorships are getting visas, and they have been waiting much less.

so marry her and go with the sponsorship option so you won't wait like us forever

Eh laken ana kamen marte min el 20%. Sorna tnen :D.

But its not logic because its say the times are based on how long it took to process 80 percent of all cases between July 1, 2011, and June 30, 2012. Beirut vo start process our files only in april 2012 maybe and not since july 2011. So this statistic is based on only 3 month. So its have not too mutch importance!
