Beirut FAM applicants forwarded to CPP-Ottawa

Hello all!

My husband's visa has been approved in Amman, and we will be submitting his passport in Beirut (we live in Syria). We'll be going through the VAC in Verdun, Beirut. Does anyone have any experience with how long it might take to get the passport back? He's not sure if he should wait in Beirut for the visa, or come back here in the meantime.

Also - I'm looking up the VAC on Google Maps.. it's in Hamra, right? It's showing me that it's next to the Commodore Hotel. Is that right?

Hello all!

I've been waiting for two weeks. Their website says it might take a month.

So it seems as per usual, there is no rhyme or reason when it comes to VOs. We got the email today that the passport is ready for pick-up.. it only took 3 days! Hope yours comes soon

I got the passport back on Thursday. It took exactly one month for them to process it.

just to refresh I am a Canadian citizen living in Beirut and currently sponsoring my spouse.....its been 10 months since our file was send to Beirut and I havent heard anything yet... I was wondering even though I am not currently in Canada am I able to request notes?? if so how?? please help as i am getting frustrated with not hearing anything.

Thanks to all for sharing their issues with The Beirut's visa office, I have the same problem like everybody here has, but even my problem is more which is, this is the second application for my wife which the first one has been refused because I wasn't living in Canada and I went back to Canada to apply again but this time though my lawyer and now it has been in this office[Beirut] since August /28/2014 and since then nothing is showing up more than:

1- application received on that date mentioned above
2-midecal result exam has been received
that's it

So anybody can advice me here when should I have new update on the file? And one more thing for the people who have an experience with this office what is the next move for the file?
please be advice

I had great holidays.I went to Canada for a visit..and now I'm back to the routine .
Nothing new in our file either. To order the notes you need any friend's or a member of family's address in Canada (u just need to sign an extra paper titled "Consent for an access to information and personal information request" ) . I received this email today, glad to know they are working on our cases
This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada. Please return this letter with the requested following documents:



Copy of your updated passport



Recent police certificate from Lebanon



Detailed plan and proof of intent to reside in Canada



RPRF Have your sponsor pay the Right of Permanent Residence Fee of $490 on your behalf in Canada. Please ensure that the original receipt is forwarded to the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga and a copy to this office.


I need some help, just to refresh, I (sponsor) am living in beirut with my husband (applicant) and our 2 children. with regards to the detailed plan and proof of intent to reside in Canada, how do I do that. Once we go we are going to stay with a relative until we find a suitable house for us to rent and then look for jobs. Please help with any advice. Does paying the right of permanent residence fee mean my hubby is approved???

Please advise guys...bc im panicking about the proof....

I am glad finally you got an Email from them, i will advise you about ( detailed plan and proof of intent to reside in canada) first of all, you need to proof that you have a job in canada or a letter from your employee that they will hire you when you arrived in canada other wise your husbands visa will be reject it, the second one you need to call your relatives which where you gonna stay and tell them to send you an email that you have got a place for you and your family, when you provide those letters you will be fine because my first application for my wife has been refused of those two reasons.

thank you for the advice, but regarding a letter from an employer I haven't been in Canada since 2009....how can i get a letter not knowing date of arrival. Regarding the letter from family I have already done that, I'm also going to include my conversations with my friends in Canada about me returning with my family and also for my husband....if God forbid that doesn't work than i will send them copies of one way tickets for me and my children showing that we going and were not coming back here....oh and I'm also going to send copies of our passports (that i have renewed my passport) and of my children s passports. I hope its sufficient information as I really do want to leave Beirut as a family and start our lives in Canada....nshallah kher...wish me luck

So anyways, i am telling you you need to get a job letter, maybe you can ask your friend to help you with that.

No they did not call us for an interview...we have been married since 2010 and have 2 children...i dont know how much that differs from your case...but im going to include as much info as i can..did ur wife get her papers yet?? any news??
