It does not seem that they will answer inquiries. I don't know... I emailed them 2 weeks ago not asking about this specifically but no answer yet so I don't know wallah.
Even though they didn't email me ... They only emailed my husband. The email specifically ssaid not to contact them:

What about ordering the notes for your case that might give us some info... Does anyone have an experience ordering that and how to do it?

I just ordered my case notes. Like less than 5 minutes ago.
I'll also send an email to CCP-O asking for info regarding timelines, and why has the transfer happened as such...
Will keep you posted with the results, if any.

FYI, on a somewhat related note, a friend of mine had his Quebec Skilled Worker file transferred from Beirut to Bucharest (the file had already been transferred from Damascus to Beirut with the closing of the Damascus visa office).
The email he received said that this was done so in order to distribute processing load at different visa offices.

You need to be a Canadian Citizen or physically be in Canada (by providing a canadian mailing address to which the ATIP notes will be sent).

You also need a scan of the consent form signed by the SPONSORED spouse, which is the principal applicant. (form IMM5744, google it as I don't have a link)

You will then request the ATIP at the above link with the following details:
Requesting Information on your behalf: No
Requesting information belonging to a deceased individual: No
Category of Requester: Member of the public
Right of access: Depending on your situation. Mine is "Canadian Citizen"
Act: Access to Information Act
File Type: Immigration File: Permanent residence
Type of Records: Case Files
Type of Documents: Electronic Files (make sure you do not select physical files, as they would have to retrieve your file from visa offices to actually scan it)
Method of Delivery: Email (allthough last time, they sent them by post to my Canadian address)

You will then need to upload the consent and pay a 5$ fee through credit card. I tried with a Lebanese card and it works perfectly fine.

Canadian_Leb and Candude, i just received an email from an immigration consultant, saying that we have to wait a total of 20 months(including the time our files were in CPP-Ottawa)
this is crazy...May God be with us.

Guys, I have an Idea, I suggest that each one of us posts the following information:
Sponsor gender/age
Sponsored person gender/age/profession/lived outside Lebanon or not.

I believe that those are key factors that will help determine processing times, as they varying largely between 8 and 20 months.

Soon_Canadian, there is a strong possibility that the email you received is strictly based according to the official processing time, there is a fair chance that your file might be done before that. However, take this advice, keep the worst scenario in mind, so when a surprise happens it will only be a pleasant one.


I am a male 26 years old, sponsoring my wife 21 years old. She is finishing university and she is a day care teacher. Never lived outside Lebanon.
