I am graduated from ontario in hospitality
Do i need any experience (apprenticeship) or trade certificate to apply for BC pnp in Noc 7291
Or i can apply right now with job letter with minimum pay....

Hi guys, it feels great to find such a forum that everybody shares with each other their pains and joyfulness. I am also one of those suffering the long time processing time to get a BC provincial nomination.

I applied my BC PNP under the category of International Post Graduate.(Hi R1982, please also add me into the processing status list Cheers!!)

I have some concerns about my case. Dear everyone, please help me address them ;D

1) Now. I am working under my Post Graduate Work Permit(PGWP) which will expire in March, 2015. But my Temporary Residence Visa is only valid until the end of December. I am thinking If I renew my TRV now and there will be at most an extension of 3 months' TRV will be issued (Which is subject to the expire date of my work permit). Is it right? Can I stay within Canada with an expired TRV but a valid work permit?

2) The AOR in July illustrated that the processing time will be 5-6 months once they received my application submission. However, the processing time changed to 8-9 months when I emailed them if there is any information I need to supplement in October. Am I gonna be subject to this updated processing time?

3) As I am a PGWP holder, it seems there are only two ways for me to extend work permit. Ideally, apply for a bridging open work permit once the BCPNP certificate is issued. Two, Ask the employer to ask for a LMO. The latter one seems unrealistic to me because I was graduated from a forestry degree but now I am temporarily working for a travelling company. So I guess this does not work on me.

is there any differance of application processing time while applying in land ( canada ) or from outside country under the same skilled worker catagery at the same time....i mean is there any preffrence to inland applicants while processing....

It doesn't matter if your Temporary Resident Visa expires. That's just a port of entry if you are travelling outside the country or entering Canada. The PGWP is the legal document that let you remain in Canada on Temporary basis and let you work legally until the date mentioned on PGWP. So its not worth just extending your TRV just for 3 months.

Did you receive any reply back from them for your email? And it depends how they are going to review your application as they have received lot of applications in a month. So they change the processing time according to that. But i don't think so it is going to affect on your application but it can take little bit more time for you. As you can see the applicants applied in month of may 1st week started getting their decisions even its not even 8 months for them.

Just go for option 1st because i think you are going to get your PNP letter in month of January or February. So just after that you can apply for a bridging open work permit once the certificate is issued.

Thank you so much Gagan292 for your reply. It really helps me a lot. If I want to apply for visitor visa before the expiration of my work permit in order to keep my legal status in Canada, how long it will take to issue one normally? And how long will it be valid for? 1 year or 10 years? ;D

Hi,

They have only started processing May's so a while to wait still unfortunately. Probably looking at 3+ months. What date did you send your application off and when did you receive you're AOR?

If you scroll up someone has a spreadsheet with the times people are receiving there answer which is very helpful.
