Hi Aman1,

I have been wondering this myself. I think you are right I would imagine they will be off all through the festive period from xmas eve until everyone returns to work. That'll be almost a 2 week delay with getting our results... wonder if they took that into consideration with the new time frame of 8-9 months.

En....My MSP will expire at the end of December 2014. But my work permit is valid until next March. Can I extend it? Or there's no medical insurance at all since then?

Yes they are asking my pay stubs of last recent 6 month and also need T4 from my employer. hopefully my employer will send it tomorrow........!!

You can always extend your MSP coverage in accordance with your work permit expiry date.

Hey, new poster on here, but have been checking up daily!

Thought I'd share my timeline and a recent email I received which should clear some things up, and hopefully some people may find helpful.

My work permit finished on the 19th of October, they received my PNP application on the 16th of July, and I am currently on implied status, having applied for a work permit extension that they will eventually reject (hopefully it will take a while!).

The Email I sent:

Good morning,

I was just wondering what batch of application you are processing at the moment? Min was received on the 16th of July so would like to know what rough timescale to look at.

Also, it says that we are responsible for keeping our status, can we change status to visitor whilst waiting for pnp, on the assumption that my sponsor company will re-employ me once I get approved for PNP. Or do I have to maintain status as a worker in Canada until I get my PNP nomination?

'Hello,

Thank you for your email.

If you applied in the Skilled Worker or International Graduate category you can remain as a vistor in Canada (must apply with CIC first) or return to your home country while the application is processing. If you apply as ELSS category you must try your best to maintain employment in BC throughout the duration of the PNP application process. At the time of application you must meet all the requirements of the ELSS category including having full time employment and a valid work permit. If the applicant has exhausted all their options to extend their stay in Canada they could take a leave from work and the employer must continue to support the nomination at the time of the decision to be eligible.

Currently our office is working on the beginning of May 2014 files, this is not the best indicator of when your file will be reviewed as it will greatly depend on how many applications were received each day for the month. Applications are all reviewed in the order they were received by our office. We thank you for your continued patience as we are trying our best to manage the increased volume of applications received by our office.

The applicant is responsible for maintaining their legal immigration status in Canada during their application processing at the BC Provincial Nominee Program. Please contact Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) if you have further questions in regards to options on work permit extensions. call 1 888 242 2100.

They appear to consistently get 25-30 applications per day.

I wonder how many they process per day....

If they are currently at early May, that means mine (in the 4500s) should reach Decision by the end of January...

Please update your information regularly related to your BC PNP application. if anyone is not in the this chart who applied BC PNP from APRIL to OCT. 2014. Please let me know your timeline so i could add you in the list to figure out how they processing BC PNP application nows a days. hopefully they are reviewing at least 20-25 files everyday.
