Hi guys

I just checked that I have put wrong year of my birth on General application for Canada and the start date of my employment.
In my ROE says 14th and on my first pay stub 16th, so I put 16th, I didnt know.

I am thinking about sending them an email about that...
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
CanadaPC
Hi , you can send them an email with your file no. including name, date of birth and leave your phone no. to them as well.
I moved after I applied, and they reply me they will update my file.
Good luck!

I can see that it is difficult situation for everybody till PNP comes through and the question is IF it will be a positive answer
what we are all hoping for...For me it will be 2 months and a half now since AOR...My work permit expires in a week so I have implied status because I applied for a visitor visa. My current program doesnt allow for extension... :(
I have to live on my savings for the next couple of months...My representative didnt warn me on this situation at any point of time...
Hello there,
Just wanted to ask some questions, you said your work permit expired and now you are in Canada under implied status. I will be in the same situation if i don't get a answer on time. So, its possible to get a Tourist Visa and remain in Canada for a few more months while the decision is made. How are things with you? is it working out? Please let me know and if i can pass any knowledge i will be happy to do.

Hi - I am concerned about our timeline having seen others' timelines over the last 12-18 mths

App - Jan 2014
Medicals/ RCMP checks / RPR Fees / Updated Schedule A's - all requested Feb 2014
Medicals done - June 2014 (that one email had gone to our spam so hadn't seen it!)
Website says - App received and medicals received but said nothing about the additional docs for RPR fees
May 2014 - I emailed - no reply
Oct 2014 - I received my reply saying "just waiting for RCMP checks"
Confused!
So sent them again just in case
Still nothing heard

Some cases from 2013 seem to have passports requested within 1-2mths of medicals!

Although posts here seem to be longer for 2014

I stupidly put London, UK on the PR App, when I probably should have put Ottawa

When should I hear anything?

Really just want to be done now

Already in Canada working and buying a house - well established :)

Thank you very much!!!
PS - sending off for my GCMS notes as we speak

Hi guys,

I am new here and would like to know more about the BC PNP. Your replies and sharing are highly appreciated.

I am in Vancouver now, and I have graduated from a public post-secondary school in Vancouver last year, so I would like to apply for BC PNP.

1. Does BC PNP has quota for each year?

2. If I get a job offer, is that better to wait for 3 months then apply the PNP? (I know there is no working experiences required before you apply)

3. If I get approved by BC PNP, will CIC grant me PR without further check? Or I will still need the CIC to approve me before they grant me the PR?

4. Do you think the "Express Entry" category which will be launched in Jan 2015 possibly affects the BC PNP in a bad way?

Thank you very much!
3. When will the Express Entry system be launched?
The Express Entry system will launch in January 2015.

7. What will happen to permanent residence applications you receive before the launch of Express Entry?

Applications received by CIC before the launch of Express Entry will be processed according to the rules in place at that time.

9. What is the process for potential candidates who want to use both a Provincial Nominee Program and Express Entry?

There are two ways to do this. A person can:

1.apply to the PNP first, get a nomination and then fill out an Express Entry profile; or

2.fill out the Express Entry profile first. Provinces and territories can then search the Express Entry pool and ask a candidate to apply for their PNP. When the candidate gets a nomination certificate, they will update their Express Entry profile.
In either case, once a person updates their Express Entry profile to show they have a provincial or territorial nomination certificate, they will be given enough additional points to be invited to apply at the next eligible draw of candidates.

15. Can an employer who currently employs a temporary foreign worker (TFW) use Express Entry to support their application for permanent residence?

Yes. As long as the TFW is in Canada working under a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA), you can offer them a permanent job to support their application for permanent residence. Your TFW would have to create an Express Entry profile and include their job offer information. A job offer supported by an LMIA will give a candidate enough additional points and be ranked high enough to be invited to apply at the next eligible draw of candidates.

If you are considering permanently hiring a TFW and you do not have a positive LMIA for the job, you will first need to make every effort to try and find a Canadian or permanent resident to fill the job opportunity. You will need to meet LMIA requirements, including posting your job ad on Employment and Social Development Canada's (ESDC) Job Bank in addition to advertising in two other places. If you have done this and have been unsuccessful in filling your job opportunity, you can apply for an LMIA for the TFW through Service Canada. The TFW would then have to create an Express Entry profile, meet the minimum criteria and include their job offer information so they get enough additional points and be ranked high enough to be invited to apply at the next eligible draw of candidates.

28. How will the Express Entry system benefit potential candidates?
Express Entry will offer many benefits, including:

faster processing times: we expect to process most applications %in six months or less, from the time we get a complete application for permanent residence to a final decision; and
an easier way to get a job offer from an eligible employer in Canada before you arrive in Canada: the Government of Canada's enhanced Job Bank will let eligible employers in Canada and skilled foreign nationals connect with one another more easily, making economic integration faster once immigrants arrive in Canada.
Note: The Province of Quebec does not use Express Entry. They select their own skilled workers. See Quebec-selected skilled workers to find out more.

30. I am currently waiting for my application for permanent residence to be processed in the Federal Skilled Worker Program. Can I submit an Express Entry profile?

You may submit a new Express Entry profile, but it is not necessary. However, we will not refund any processing fees paid related to your original application. Your existing application will be processed based on the rules in place at the time you applied.

If you choose to create an Express Entry profile and are invited to apply, you will be required to submit a new application for permanent residence and the associated processing fees.

34. If I am in the Express Entry pool, could I be eligible for more than one program?

It is possible for you to get into the pool and be eligible for more than one immigration program. In that case, your profile would be tagged by the system to make sure it is considered for any relevant draws. If you get an Invitation to Apply (ITA), the system will tell you which immigration program you are being invited to apply to.

Invitation to Apply

36. How does a candidate get an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence?

Candidates in the pool will be issued an ITA for permanent residence when they:

have a job offer supported by an Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) from an employer in Canada; or
have a nomination from a province or territory that has an immigration nominee program; or
are one of the highest-ranked candidates who qualify for one of the three federal programs under Express Entry.
Note: An ITA does not guarantee a person will be approved for permanent residence. They still have to meet admissibility requirements under Canada's immigration law (Immigration and Refugee Protection Act).

Update on BC PNP processing times:

I walked into the PNP office today to hand in my updated work experience forms. I had the opportunity to talk to a PNP officer. I asked her about the current processing times and when Could I expect a decision on my application. My file number starts with 36 and AOR was received on July 2. She said I would get it mostly by Feb 2015. The processing times have increased to 9 months for applications sent in June /July too :(

Please notify if there are any updates

Hi Jnca
Yes, you can, but you need to submit application for changing your status in Canada.
Then you cannot work, unless your current program allows for extension.
Once we get the nomination certificate, there is another 19 months waiting time for me ???

Hi guys,

My work permit will expire in March, 2015. But my TRV will expire at the end of this month (December, 2014). I am still waiting my bc pnp result. I am thinking if I renew my TRV, will the expiring date the same with the one on my work permit? Or as I switch my status to a visitor, I can get a longer time staying in Canada?

The reason why I ask about this is I am gonna leave Canada in February and will come back in late March, but apparently my work permit has already expired at that time. So I need a visa to enter into Canada.

Any suggestions? Thanks and Appreciate your words.

Cheers.

That information is so different than what I was told. I also talked to A PNP officer, she told me for my file number, 43##, AOR July 22, probably in January, as per old timing that we received in email.
It sounds really confusing now...

Completely confusing, especially because some people with high numbers had their application reviewed..
anyway I do not think that we can change the situation..
