Hi all,

while I was filling out this form, I couldn't help but wonder about something. IMM5669, question 8, is asking us to provide a complete history since the age of 18 or the past 10 years.
In my case, during 2003-2009, I was unemployed and living with my parents. However, I did some travels outside my country. Mostly visiting family members who live in Italy and several other countries. In total, about 6 countries, during summer, never stayed more than 3 months.
I've explained on a separate sheet of papers the circumstances, but my question is: Will they do a background check on me in all of those countries`? I'm worried, because if they do, this will delay my process by months.
The only countries I've stayed for more than 6 consecutive months is my country of birth (Romania) and my country of residence(Germany) and I've provided police certificate from both.
Anyone else that traveled once a year on vacation outside their country?

I travelled and travel a lot around the world but resided only in Germany (my homeland) and Canada. You just need police certificates of the countries you lived in for 6 months or more.

But did you include all the countries you've visited in your background declaration?

No. I was always employed when I travelled. Just went for holidays. So I just wrote down my different employers in Germany and Canada from the last 10 years.
You go through Vienna so you don't have to fill out your travel history. Just write down that you were unemployed from 2003-2009, lived with your parents and just travelled once in a while but never longer than 3 months. If they want a detailled travel list they will contact you later on.

I had a detailed list of every country I had visited since I was 18. In some cases, 3-4 in one month. It was a long list, but it is better to send more information than they need than have them request it later, as it can delay your application for a month or more. ( I was lucky to have kept all my flight information emails, so i could back track to the exact month)

All I did was enter the country name, month, year and my status in the country. So if i wasnt working in that country i put visitor.

They will want to know what you did and where you went between 2003-2009 (its a long gap)
