I'm just wondering if somebody here had stayed in Saudi Arabia or anywhere in the Middle East, and had a LONG WAIT for background check. If so, can you share your timeline please?
Thank you.
I submitted my application to CIC without my spouse's Saudi police certificate. Here in Washington DC, the Saudi Embassy accepted our request but processing time is 4 to 6 months which is beyond my deadline to submit my documents. CIC Buffalo then sent me a request for additional documents and that included the Saudi police certificate of my spouse. At that time, the certificate is still not available and the Saudi Embassy does not entertain follow-ups. I then sent a letter to CIC requesting for the waiver of the Saudi police certificate. In my letter, I attached the copy of my husband's request addressed to the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia and the stub that was given to him when he went to the embassy. I also documented the sequence of events from the time he submitted the request to the latest attempt to make follow-ups. I did not receive any feedback from CIC but I did receive the request to submit RPRF and passports. The Saudi police certificate arrived though after 4 months but I am already in the process of visa stamping. We will just have it ready just in case CIC asks for it. Hope this helps.jpadz said:Hello people!

I submitted our documents to CIC Buffalo with the Police Clearance Certificate from Saudi Arabia. We got it from Saudi Embassy in Wahington, DC. It took them almost 4 months to send it to us. Thanks for sharing your timeline.
To BzMom:
Thank you for sharing your timeline and for somehow, giving us a sense of hope. Again, I did submit the Police Clearance Certificate from Saudi Arabia when we submitted our documents to CIC Buffalo. Like you, I get it from the Saudi Embassy in Washington, DC. However, whenever I made a follow-up email to CIC Buffalo, they always say that they haven't received yet the background check results. So I thought that it's my stay in Saudi Arabia that is taking them long. Our medical will expire in July 2010 and I really hope that our PPR will arrive before that date. Again, thanks.
Hi! My husband submitted the fingerprint card itself. Likewise he also gave them copies of the Saudi visa stamps on his passport.Manny said:Thanks to all for sharing your experiences.
jpadz: I note that we need to submit copy of pport, fingerprints certificate from police department, and copy of residency papers.
What is the fingerprint certificate here? Can I apply (again) for US State PCC and send it - or do they want the finger print card itself?
What is required for residency papers? Can I send copy of Saudi Visa stamps on passports? I dont have copy of Iqama.
Thanks!
