Hi,

My wife and I have become Permanent resident in Canada in September-2010(Landed in Tornto). We were expecting a baby and we tried to travel to Canada before the delivery, but unfortunately we couldn't.

Now we are parents of a baby girl(14 days old) and planning to move to Canada. How can we bring the baby with us. I have read a little about Visit visa/temporary residence permit, but I am not able to understand what should I apply for. whats the difference in a visit visa and a temporary residence permit?

Secondly as I have understood, one of us has to be in Canada to apply for the baby's PR. Is it possible that we apply for the Baby's PR and come out of Canada.

How long usually it takes to get PR for the baby?

It would be nice to have a detailed answer for the whole procedure.

Hi Kanamen,

Thank you very much for the time spent and reply to my query.

As I see it, if these things are so simple, then there is no purpose of these forums. This is also obvious for different posts on this forum regarding "babies born outside Canada".

I will try to get some CLEAR information in this regard, and post on the forum, so that could be helpful to other

Thanks once again.

Congrats for the new member in your family-

Well in order to sponsor your child you have to be in canada and show proof of funds.
There are many cases and each case is different. This should not be very complicated and try to go to www.cic.gc.ca web site and look information about sponsoring family members (child or spouse)

Good luck
