Try not to stress too much, there must be so many of us in this situation. One would hope that they realise that those of us who do not have another type of residency permit in each other's countries are in a chicken or the egg dilemma. How can we have all these things until we have PR status, but on the other hand we need the evidence to get PR status! Grrrr!
This actually reminds me of the conversation we had with the Canadian border agent on our return from the US earlier this year. We went up together and she looked at hubby's Canadian passport and my Australian passport, and asked why I was coming to stay for 6 months. I said that we are married, and I'm visiting my husband. She then asked, suspiciously, why he lived in Canada while I lived in Australia, and I so badly wanted to retort 'well, because neither country hands out PR simply on the presentation of the wedding certificate!' Thankfully I bit my tongue and said something innocuous instead, and I was allowed in.

dawndarkharp said:I was in the same situation! My hubby was only a temporary worker, so he couldn't join on my account and basically had to BEG my bank to let him have an account and a SIN card. But the card was registered to our address. We just have a lot of joint mail. Nothing too official, bank statements, phone bills, etc. mailed to our address. I don't think I included much but a joint rental agreement! My hubby added me on his account when I was a temporary worker in NZ, so that is our only joint account - but they do not allow joint anything! And in Vancouver - there is no way I could even make a down payment on a house, let alone have a joint mortgage!!! I'm only 25, so my evidence is very limited! I'm so worried about it all :/
