I received PPR today and yes, I can confirm that Sydney only requests a photocopy of every page rather than the original passport!

Congrats Misskay, I'm starting to worry about our application now. You submitted after us and we haven't seen any updates on ecas or had any other word from Sydney. :(

Hey guys,
Just wondering if anyone has heard anything from Sammi? According to her profile, COPR was being mailed end of July, not sure if she has landed yet...?

Also, Canstralian, what are you up to? Is it showing in "in process" for you? You must be really close to COPR by now!!

Not showing in process yet.....getting a bit worried. With our luck, it's on the desk of someone who's on vacation.

hi all, my hubby has received the approval! so now we're onto stage 2, and application has been sent to Sydney office. :)

I also sent them an email regarding my Australian citizenship approval, hopefully i can get the new passport before they ask for it. We'll continue the wait... hope the process will be soon!

could anyone please update the spreadsheet? do we have one?

thank you BCRain. Sydney office has been highly regarded as quick and efficient... so let's hope they process our applications quickly!

Wow, I check in after a few days AFK and I see lots of good news has rolled in! :)

Congratulations misskay on the PPR, you're almost at the finish line. Also congratulations miniejungle on the sponsorship approval and good luck with speedily breezing through the next stage.

We finally had a chance to check the Canada Post delivery status on our application, and it's confirmed as delivered, BUT there was no signature recorded on delivery, despite the fact that we specifically requested and paid for this option at the post office! Grrrr, not happy Jan! Of course, I can complain to Canada Post, but I doubt that they can now go back and re-collect that signature.

You will usually find with big embassies/ consulates that your individual letter will not be signed for. More a case a big sack of mail signed or delivered to their doors.

Still no change on Ecas, getting really disheartened/worried now. Knowing that they are not going to request my husband's passport, but rather all of the pages, what do people think of us sending them before they are requested? Is this a bad idea? It just irks me that they won't respond to inquiries if your timeline is within the time frame (which has now increased to 8 months). I just want to know that someone is looking at our app, it that too much to ask? :(

the processing time for Sydney has been increased to 8 months now... so Canstralian/Oznadian, maybe we need to wait a lil longer...

i read somewhere that they replied emails pretty fast but it's been a week since I sent them the email about my new passport, and they haven't replied yet. my police check in singapore has just started to process - so it would be at least 3 weeks for them to reach Sydney VO... i think i have at least 1-2 more months till i can see "in process"...

on a possitive note, i finally know when i can become official Australian and would be able to apply for passport after that - which is early November. so my trip in December should be fine, yay!

So by the looks of some of our timelines, it takes about two months to process at Mississauga before it gets sent back to Sydney...?

About that. CIC is currently reporting 70 days average processing time for sponsor assessment, which is the part done in Mississauga before the application is sent to Sydney. It went up by 4 days since I last checked two days ago.

Sydney average processing time is now 8 months, up from 6 months previously.

Has anyone from Oz gone over recently on IEC prior to receiving PR?

what is IEC???

I didn't know either so I googled it. It's the International Experience Canada (IEC). Basically working visa for under 30s. I thought about investigating this route initially but I was just over the age limit :(

Sorry I should have clarified.

Seeing as Canada allows dual intent, I am hoping to go over on the working holiday whilst waiting for PR. Just waiting for the working holiday to come back, should take about 2 more weeks. It is a program for 30 old and under.
