Wrong. For 6 in any one IELTS component, you get 0 points for English.

To get the minimum 10 points for English, all components (reading, speaking, listening, writing) must be scored at least 7.
Did you read what is the question? S/he did not ask anything about points.
"Min band required in IELTS" was the question.
Minimum required band in IELTS to be eligible to apply for a PR visa.

That is a consultant's link, NOT Aus Gov link.

For visa 189, you get 0 points for Competent English (which is 6 in all component).

There's nothing called "minimum requirements". It's a points based system.

Minimum you need is 60 points (not easy to get), but for some occupations you will need to wait very long with the bare minimum 60 points to get an ITA.

Official link is here.

Click on points test and click on english language ability.
Can you provide a better link than this that contradicts my statement?

I am also having questions if I will even get the minimum required 60 points to apply for 189. But I am going ahead and applying for assessment with ACS.

I have a Canadian Bachelors degree and a year experience working as an accountant.

I researched and found that I would be getting assessed from CPA Australia.

The research raised a lot of questions in my mind.

CPA website says that there are some core courses that you should have for an accountant. I don't have these courses in my bachelors degree nor do I have a designation.

Does this mean I won't be able to get a positive assessment?
I am sorry I have no idea about CPA assessment process. You need to post this query in expatforum.com

@SFKAS, your case is similar to mine. I am a chartered Accountant from Nigeria, holds Bsc. Finance & HND Accounting with About 13yrs working experience as an Accountant. Does it sound like a good job prospect awaits me in Australia?
I will appreciate reply from anyone with an idea in the house Please.
I thank you.

@Jairichi, do you have an answer for me?
I thank you.

Thank you for your kind words Foresight. I have a very good Nigerian friend who has currently lodged his 189 visa application and waiting for approval for the past 1 week. He told me that he is part of a whatsapp group for Nigerians for Aus PR visa. If you think it might be of help send me your number as a message and I can ask him to add you to that group. God bless you too and fulfill your wishes.

thanks for the info Jairichi +1

great topic thank you for the info,

I'm thinking to apply for myself and my family.

I'm only getting 50 in 189

I am getting 65 points in 189 without points for experience.

Does this mean we can apply without experience?

As I am new to aus immi and I am sure many others are on here its not very clear

If you are applying for ACS accreditation, you will need 2 years minimum work experience regardless of how many ever points you calculate.
