Latest Update: Here is the reply I received from IRCC, One day prior to ceremony,

"Due to the current labour dispute we cannot give the ceremony information at this time. Please be patient while we wait and see how long this disruption will last. We have not cancelled the ceremony as yet. You will receive direction closer to the ceremony to let you know if it will be cancelled or not.

We try to make decisions regarding cancellations around 2pm for the following day, so please keep an eye on your email."

Thank you

IRCC Scarborough Team

Has anyone gotten an invitation for Oath ceremony since the strikes began? I wonder if there might be some of IRCC staff still working on these?

@sathakkar you got any update from IRCC Scarborough Team ?

Certainly they will have contract guys working but they constitute a few. Most Fed workers are on strike. I received GCMS notes last week and I saw that d next time an agent will work on my file will be 3rd of May & that will be to schedule the oath ceremony. That may be delayed given the strike. More backlogs, more wait time. But let see how things goes.

I read somewhere that for citizenship and permanent reident applications only permanent workers(the ones on strike) work on them, but for visa applications they do have temporary workers

I am not shocked. More waiting time then.

FWIW, we got a Status Tracker notification for a May 5th oath ceremony, but no instruction email. So, we called the IRCC.

The very kind agent told us to call 1 week before the date, in case there was any further info. But, she also said that, if it were to be cancelled, we might or might not receive a cancellation email.

She said that if we received no notification at all before the date, we should just assume that it had been cancelled, and that it would be rescheduled once the strike was over.

Well, this sucks!

Dear Applicant,
Please be advised that your scheduled ceremony for Thursday, April 27, 2023 has been cancelled, due to the current labour disruption. You will automatically be rescheduled after the labour disruption has ended.

SCR seems to be cancelling for days at a stretch. They even cancelled 28th one too.

I got the email today morning at around 10:30am for tomorrow's In person Interview :

"
