Hey!Can you help me to do it myself? I just need to know where should I start?
There is a FB group that provides step-by-step instructions on how to file a Writ of Mandamus. I also consulted with my lawyer, who sent me a pricing list. We agreed that I would complete the first step on my own, and if step two becomes necessary, he will take over the case.
He advised me to contact my MP, request ATIP notes, and send a demand letter to IRCC. I had already completed all of these actions before receiving his advice. In my initial demand letter, I gave IRCC 30 days to finalize my citizenship application. Following my lawyer’s recommendation, I sent a second letter extending the deadline by another 30 days. That deadline has now passed.
Interestingly, I received a ghost update after 15 months, and I’m not sure if it was triggered by these actions. Based on my experience, I recommend first sending a demand letter to IRCC via webform and regular mail.
Hi. Did you notify them in your demand letter that you'll file the writ of mandamus if they don't fulfill your request?
On my tracker I see both security check and prohibition are in progress but in my GCMS notes says criminality passed, Security is empty and Prohibition is Not Started. I also had contacted CIC to update my marital status and they told me no further action both on the webform and on the phone but I see in GCMS notes that it’s still not updated.

I have the same status too grant clearance pending, have you figured out what it really means? AOR aug 2023The security part of the GCMS is most likely redacted. It is for most people, if not all.
look for criminality status. It should say passed or in progress.
also, check and see if your primary office has changed. I see quite a few people with their office being changed to Vancouver.
Also look for “location” on the third page and see what’s written there.
mine has changed from e-grant clearance pending to grant clearance pending. Have no idea what it means though.
bottom line is… wait wait wait!!!
