Call center agent are not answering general enquires on status these days....at least before I can call and ask when did an officer last view my file.According to IRCC call center agent, withdraw process will take 12 weeks at least.
However, due to the ongoing crisis in Afghanistan, the Immigration Member of Parliament inquiry line is not taking or responding to any requests for status updates and inquiries. Please see their email below for your reference.
"The Government of Canada is deeply concerned with the rapidly evolving situation in Afghanistan. In order to respond to a high volume of enquiries related to the crisis, we have needed to shift resources in our Client Support Centre.
As a result, we are currently focusing only on priority telephone enquiries related to the situation in Afghanistan, high profile or sensitive cases and urgent processing requests due to funeral or serious illness.
Consequently, we regret to inform you that until further notice, we will no longer answer any enquiries via email. Kindly note that all enquiries still pending an answer from our Information Center for Members of Parliament and Senators (ICMPS) may only be answered once we resume our regular operation.
This is just purely PR......it make them look good on the public, and make people who are waiting suffer.Contacted my MP again to get them to follow up on my case, and got this response. FML.
They have got some new excuse. However, we have been waiting for 13 months now. We should have received PR way before the Afghanistan crisis have started.Contacted my MP again to get them to follow up on my case, and got this response. FML.
Doesn't mean those people in Afghanistan are not important and doesn't require attention. But you know, everyone is created equally, if we applied first, our enquiry should be prioritized first. The Afghanistan situations has been going on for years and years, and it's never been good, people there who are desperate and have the desire to move to another county, would have already landed in a safe county. This is just pure public relation to make the government looks good. They have got some new excuse. However, we have been waiting for 13 months now. I understand that Afghanistan crisis is high priority but how long we need to wait. Earlier they said Corona virus as an excuse and now Afghanistan crisis. Why our application should be affected for whatever is happening in this world.Doesn't mean those people in Afghanistan are not important and doesn't require attention.
