Hi randr, I am yet to file my Citizenship App. Hopefully in couple of months time. I am thinking whether to go with a consultant or apply on my own. Could you share how much was the government fees involved in the process, thanks.

I paid $630 but I suggest you check the website just before you apply in case the fee changes (unlikely... but who knows)
You can check it here: https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/index.asp

If you want to do it on your own, I suggest you take your time to read in details the application instructions here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...itizenship/become-canadian-citizen/apply.html
It's easy to miss something and have your application returned...

It's up to you if you're more comfortable doing it on your own or with a consultant. I did it on my own, but some people feel safer going with a consultant.

I am from Ottawa.

Getting frustrated as no file movement since Dec 10 (in process) where some other people received test date and even completed the test.

Sent application on Aug 20ish

Anyone else from Ottawa/around have similar situation?

Any case has its own timeline and is different from others. When a case goes to In Process, it means they start to do background and security checks like checking trips, tax payments, ID verification...
If someone applied at the same time and he/she already done the test but you haven't even received test invite letter, it means your case has still more things to do and it is not done yet.
Just don't worry, you will get your test invite letter after they finish those things.;)

Passed the test 18/20 today at Scarborough office. Did it in <5 minutes to get a quick interview. Interview was mainly what job, where I’m from, how long I’ve been working for, what I studied.

then he asked why I have traveled to the US so often and was checking all my passport stamps to match with the sheet. Said needs to go through it again to check. Will email if he needs anything further otherwise wait for Oath Invite in two months’ time.

Congrats.

Are your number of days very close to the minimum required?

No. I had a total of 1101 days. I wrote down my Feb travel dates for the officer too.

Seeing the trend for Scarborough off late, it seems DM is also taking a while to show up after the test. :/

1101 days is only 6 above the minimum so I would say you were close. No wonder the officer needs time to verify.

Can you please add to the spreadsheet

@admin - can you update in the Google spreadsheet ?
Update

Test date: Jan 30th

Close to what? It’s not like there are any incorrect dates. He just needs to match the passport stamps to the dates on the Physical Presence calculator sheet. All my dates are correct. He did match 5 stamps but some were left so said he’ll do it later.

I just checked my ECAS.

Test: Jan 30th
Decision Made: Jan 30th

now waiting for the Oath Invite, right?
