Thank you! I got the same email!

Whoa whoa whoa! Huh? So, let me get this straight - they are most likely going to request a copy of the passport and 2 more pics? Does this mean that we do not need to go to the border to "land"?

It was mostly people from the UK being processed through Ottawa asked for this, but there was another thread earlier tonight where a U.S. citizen was asked for this as well. They got DM on the 20th and received an e-mail.

Your guess is as good as mine. Maybe those e-mails are only going out to people from whom they need new photos, and for the rest of you the COPR is just going to be mailed directly. In these cases, they need those things before they'll send the COPR out. Either way, you'd still have to flagpole.

If you are holder of passport(s) from countries whose citizens need an eTA to travel to Canada or a holder of passport(s) from the United States, you will need to submit one photocopy of the photo page and any pages containing amendments of the passport for you and for each accompanying family member. Please do not send your original passport(s). Your passport(s) should be valid for at least 6 months.
"

Maybe this is a new thing?

No problem! Since I did new photos recently, I'm almost hoping they'll ask for them just so I have some communication when I get approved.

I've heard they request this to make sure your passport is still valid. I'm not sure if this is specific to those who forgot to send in a copy of their passport upfront or not? I remember sending in a copy of my passport with my application.

Would I be safe to book my tickets now for the end of March if we are submitting our passport to MVO tomorrow?

Should not be a problem.

Although it only took few days to have my passport back after submitting, and other mostly received within 5 working days, but still allow 90 days for them to process base on PPR email, who knows.

I booked my flight right away after VOH just to be sure .

Cheers!

Dying inside and still waiting for any movement from "in process." Praying I just end up one of those people who wake up to a copr in the mail. Already started packing everything in preparation. *fingers crossed* This week please....

Same here... been waiting for any updates from MyCIC and eCAS. Nothing yet since AOR2. It is making me feel so upset. I wanna fly and see my love ones the soonest. Although it's been only 5 months but hoping to get my Visa soon, too... May we all get an updates within the week... Good luck everyone and God bless... :D :D :D

While you're probably fine to do that, personally, I would only book refundable tickets despite the added cost for peace of mind. If the time comes that you get your passport back very soon, you can always cancel them and re-book a non-refundable flight (assuming it is still cheaper, which it probably would be).
