Oh my goodness. I heard that this year all National Parks are free. Does every household get a pass or is it something you have to register for? Nothing for me today.knowledge101 said:haha my heart almost stopped yesterday; I got a brown letter from Canada...turns out it was my 2017 Discover Canada Park Pass
If nothing else good came from it, your post was useful. I had been forgetting to remind my husband to order one of those passes. Thanks!knowledge101 said:haha my heart almost stopped yesterday; I got a brown letter from Canada...turns out it was my 2017 Discover Canada Park Pass

This is good to hear! Got DM last week too but haven't heard anything else this week.Ch1982 said:Hi folks, a bit of an update.
My ecas changed to DM last week on the PR side, which i mentioned before.
Today i recieved an email from CIC (via my lawyer), they are requesting a copy of my passport and 2 more passport style photos ( I've lost count of how many photos i've sent them throughout this process!).
They asked me to include in my package an Xpresspost pre-paid envelope for them to return my COPR in, this is quite good as it means i can check the tracking number after a few days and know roughly when to expect the COPR.
Needless to say I sent off all the items they requested this afternoon.
I wasn't expecting them to request a copy of my passport due to being from a visa exempt country (UK), but they did.
I'm currently in canada and my CPC was Ottawa, and it was an outland application. The email they sent said that they could only mail the COPR to a canadian address.
I just thought i'd give a little update of where i'm at, so that other folks who are in a similar situation know what to expect.
Appreciate all the help and information from everyone on here over the last few months.
Yes they are free for 2017! You have to register for it. A great welcoming gift to Canada!Stevin said:Oh my goodness. I heard that this year all National Parks are free. Does every household get a pass or is it something you have to register for? Nothing for me today.
Totally. My partner was totally blown away when we went to Banff last summer. The only "mountains" he was familiar with was in New Hampshire. He was blown away by "The Rockies".knowledge101 said:Yes they are free for 2017! You have to register for it. A great welcoming gift to Canada!
I've never been able to link my application to mycic account (i think because i used a lawyer as my representative).richardlin said:This is good to hear! Got DM last week too but haven't heard anything else this week.
Is there any change on your mycic account?
I guess my be that's how they do COPR, by requesting a copy of passport?
But if you were from an non visa exempt country, they would request the original passport. right?
Just checked my email, apparently 21 hours ago (Friday the 20th) at 11:37, I got an email from CPC Ottawa. And the content is pretty much the same with what @Ch1982 explained above!Ch1982 said:Hi folks, a bit of an update.

Yes, the email said that if i was from a country that required a visa to visit canada then then i would need to send my actual passport, however since i don't need a visa they just require a copy of the photograph page.
I imagine you'll hear something pretty soon. All the best!
