Someone on the Sept thread said they got an acknowledgement letter on the 20th!! Their app was received Sept 6!

Not sure if they actually mean they got AOR, but holy cow that would be fast!

I think it depends on the officer...we had an individual who got AOR1, 2 days after submission and SA couple weeks later so rare cases can happen :)

To everyone who doesn't have an AOR1 yet, don't you worry guys. Not everyone is getting AOR1 (like me). As long as you see some progress on your MyCIC or ECAS, you're good. :) SA is far more important :)

Hi Guys,

After receiving AOR1, how many days usually need to wait for SA?
I received my SA after 4 days.

Hey all,
we received this apparently generic (as other recent HK applicants have all gotten the exact same) document request email:

"This message is in reference to your application for permanent residence in Canada as a member of the family class. Your file has now been transferred to the Consulate General of Canada in Hong Kong for further processing.

This letter is comprised of two parts: the first part is a request for documentation that requires your immediate action. The second part contains general information which you should carefully review.

PART ONE – DOCUMENT REQUEST

In order to prepare your application for further processing, the following documentation must be received by our office within 30 days from the date of this letter:

For the principal applicant and all dependents, whether accompanying you to Canada or not:
If not yet submitted: Copy of Hukou (household register) if you reside in the People’s Republic of China or Taiwan, accompanied by a notarized translation into either English or French. Translation must be part of the notarized booklet.
If not yet submitted: Copy of the bio-data page of your valid passport. DO NOT submit your original passport at this time.
If not yet submitted: Two (2) recent photos respecting precise specifications that can be found at: www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/pdf/5445EB-e.pdf

For the principal applicant and all dependents 18 and over, whether accompanying you to Canada or not:
Updated Schedule A Background/Declaration form (IMM 5669): You must declare your personal history and addresses from the age of 18 (not only the past 10 years).
Updated Additional Family Information form (IMM 5406)
If not yet submitted: Original police certificates from each country in which you have spent 6 consecutive months or more since the age of 18. For instructions on how to obtain police certificates for specific countries, click here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/index.asp. If you are unable to submit police certificate(s) within the 30 day deadline, submit proof of having applied for the certificate with your package.
For the principal applicant:
If not yet paid and not exempt: Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF). To avoid processing delays, we strongly encourage you to pay your fees online and to submit a copy of your receipt to our office. To pay your fees online, click here: https://eservices.cic.gc.ca/epay/welcome.do.

For all dependent children, whether accompanying or not:
If not yet submitted: Copy of the original hospital birth certificate. For children born in the People’s Republic of China: You must submit a scanned notarized copy of the original Medical Certificate of Birth issued by the Ministry of Health of the People’s Republic of China (If this is not available, you must submit an explanation as to why this document cannot be submitted).

For all dependent* children 19 and over:
Evidence that (s)he has been continuously enrolled in and attending a post-secondary institution that is accredited by the relevant government authority, and that (s)he is actively pursuing a course of academic, professional or vocational training on a full-time basis. Documentation must include transcripts.
OR
Evidence that (s)he is unable to be financially self-supporting due to a physical or mental condition.
*Note: To review the definition of a dependent child, please visit: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/notices/2014-06-23.asp

Please submit all the requested documents with a copy of this letter in a single package. If there are any documents you are unable to submit in your package, please include a detailed explanation.

All documents must be in either English or French. Any documents not in English or French must be accompanied by a certified translation.

The above documents must be received in our office within 30 days from the date of this letter. If you fail to comply with this requirement, a decision concerning your application will be made based upon the information already submitted with this application. This may result in the refusal of your application.

Documents should be submitted by mail or courier to:
Immigration Section
Consulate General of Canada
8/F, Berkshire House, 25 Westlands Road, Quarry Bay
Hong Kong

As you can see I highlighted the "if not yet..." and assume that is taken care of with the initial application.
And in regards to IMM5669, I can only assume that Hong Kong requires Mainland Chinese to disclose their near entire life history. And there is no problem there.
What does confuse me, however is the request for an "Updated Additional Family Information form (IMM5406)" as What was completed was exactly as asked, and the available form was dated 2013-09, the same as what we submitted.
The was also a generic request in the comments of other other HK visa applicants who had received the same letter.

What we will do is update the the IMM5669 to reflect her history even further, and simply resend the IMM5406 that we sent originally.
I assume it's the best course of action to send what I suppose is needed and asked for, and perhaps even too much is better than not enough.

So I'm just putting this out there as a reference for others working through the HK visa office.

Same here no Aor. But application updated today on mycic account.

One question/concern I have is in regards to the Medical results being labeled as Passed in MyCIC.
It seems many of you have already discovered your medical passing but on our end it still is labelled "Review in Progress" as it has been from nearly the start. Is this reason for concern? They have the printed copy of the proof and transfer number from the clinic...

And come to think of it, I have another worry.. Quebec.
Our file (and visa payment form) arrived a week ago today for the CSQ, but as of yet, there has been no payment incurred on the card. It seems others have taken 3 days to a week.. I hope they are just slow, and not shipping the original application back. How long after receipt of application to you get the Visa deduction?

Thanks

Try not to use UCI. UCI provided in AOR is sponsor's UCI and you want to enter PA UCI when linking your application, which you may not know before getting AOR2 (unless you had UCI from before sending your application). I linked mine using application number and many people had success linking it using other information as mentioned in previous posts.

I tried the Application Number and the same name appears on the ECAS, still was no luck. I will try again today or wait for few days this week.

if it doesnt work, can I call CIC to fix this for me ?

I gave CIC another call...they didn't have anything else to tell me other than they put a message for my officer, which I already knew...this sucks! haha, I just want SA...I have reviewed all the paperwork and I don't see any mistakes or missing information...and it is taking so much longer than anyone elses :(

Hi Grizzlyman. We got the exact same email this morning from the Hong Kong office. I also thought it was strange that they asked for an updated IMM5406 since it is quite a short period of time for the family composition to change. Oh well, we can print out another copy, sign, and send it to them.

Sept -16 applicant are getting AOR-1 email but not me ( 25 - 31 aug) :o :o :o :-[

Hi Omegabyte.

Have you got your Aor1?

No, not as of 4:10 PM MDT on Thursday, Sept 22, 2016. LOL

We're not expecting it until tomorrow at the earliest.
