US Outland has been going very quickly over the summer, but it seems to be slowing down after Labour Day. I've heard they use students as temp staff during the summer, so this would make sense they've slowed after the students went back to their studies.

I've seen everything from 3-4 weeks, to 6+ months this year. If you've got an ordinary kind of application, all paperwork completed, medical done, and fees paid, it should be fairly quick. Maybe by US Thanksgiving or Christmas holidays?

Good Luck!

Thanks Omegabyte! Keeping fingers crossed all goes smoothly! The level of my impatience never fails to amaze me. Haha

So I ended up calling CIC in order to get some more information considering we still have yet to receive SA!
They ended up informing me that they are currently behind 5 days of work, which is what may be causing all of the delays the August applications seem to be having. Thought I would let you all know!

He also stated that he would put an "urgent message" for our agent in order to make sure they do SA within a business day or two. Anyone know if they actually care about this urgent message and begin to work faster?

Honestly I'm not even sure. I called CIC last week Tuesday and was told that I received sponsorship approval but still have yet to receive a formal letter from CIC that confirms this. The only confirmation I have is that ECAS shows decision made on the sponsorship side and in process for the principle applicant.

Hi joyce_tosf,

May I know what is stated on your ecas when you click the "Decision Made" on the Sponsorship Application part? Cause mine says they sent a correspondence on September 14 about the decision but I did not even receive anything from them. Principal Applicant part, however, also says "In process".

Thanks!

Interesting feedback from CIC....."Behind 5 days of work" . Does it mean their communication is slow or does it mean they are facing heavy work load ??

I think it just means that they have been slow looking at applications since after the summer for whatever reason! I don't think correspondence is affected I think just the speed at which they are going through steps in Mississauga is 5 days slower. Once it gets to your Visa Office, it should be back to the regular schedule, but things like AOR1's and SA's seem to be delayed.

This makes sense for our account because our AOR1 was delayed 4 days! So SA's might be taking an average of 34 days now.

Thanks hopefulcanadian! This is good to know, hopefully it'll help me be a little more patient ::)

My application was received on Aug.23 but still NO AOR. But when I open my CIC account, it says "REVIEW OF MEDICAL RESULTS PASSED". I'm still happy for that at least I know that my application is moving. ;D

Hey everyone,

It seems that I finally got SA after nearly 46 days. While I didn't receive an email nor has ECAS updated, but my wife's MyCIC account's review of eligibility field changed from "Not Started" to "Review in Progress." It seems that others have indicated that this implies SA and that it's been sent to a VO for further processing.

If you have an email listed when you sent in an application then they will email you and also let you know what Visa office your application is being sent to. If you didn't add an email, then they will mail you, and if you have a representative (like me) then they will notify the representative by emailing. And from my understanding, I believe that it does imply SA and when "Review in progress" changes to "passed" it means that they've completed processing your wife's part of the application. I hope that helps!!

Wow girl you sound like me! Seriously. Ha. Someone was wise enough to tell me to try PAs Surname and App #, passport info, and # of applicants as 2. I think that was the kicker for me, the # of applicants. Good luck!
