Hi Fatima786,

1. I used my UCI number (I am the sponsor), my date of birth, last name and place of birth
---I already have the UCI number ever since I became a Canadian citizen (it's printed at the back of my Canadian Citizenship Certificate that's why I was able to put that information while I was filling out the forms). When these information are used to check your application status on ECAS, both the status of the sponsorship application and the status of the permanent residence application (on a table) will be shown.

2. Using your application number or the receipt number, either the sponsored person's or the sponsor's date of birth and place of birth should let you log in to ECAS as well. :) The only difference is that when you use the sponsored person's details, the status of the permanent residence application will only be shown (the sponsorship application status will only be visible when the sponsor's details are used).

I didn't get an AOR but I was able to access ECAS since last week :)

Thank you lirabells.

Congratulations to everyone who got AOR1 and SA recently.

I finally called the call centre the other day, since the CIC received my application on August 5th and still no SA, and I got an agent that was really helpful.

First, she found there was a typo in my email address, so I sent a enquiry to get that fixed (although they still managed to send me my AOR1 by email back in August). However, she said that the CIC hasn't tried to send me any correspondence since then.

Also, she said that since I'm over the sponsor assessment time, she'll send a reminder to the officer that's assigned to my application. She seemed to imply that we should see a decision made "soon."

I also ordered the sponsor portion of our GCMS notes last week, so hopefully they'll help to shed some light on our delay. The sponsor portion of our application, at least, should've been a fairly straightforward case, so I think processing times can vary greatly depending on the officer assigned to a file.

Yikes: just out of curiosity, was the email typo on your application or was the typo made by the CIC official?

I hope things go smoother for you from here on out. Cheers

Just an update.

I got an e-mail today saying my application was updated on My CIC but still haven't been able to access it since last week Friday. Before that it was fine. Then all of a sudden, after receiving my AOR1 e-mail, it's been saying "application status is unavailable please try again later"

So I finally just called and the lady on the phone was very helpful. She also cannot figure out why there are technical issues BUT she was able to tell me that I was APPROVED as a sponsor! Yay!

She said she would remind the officer to send a letter to me. So hopefully I get that soon so I know which VO it was sent to.

Thanks for the advice everyone!

Great news for you - here's hoping it goes smoother from here on :)

Thanks. We're really hoping for good news today or tomorrow.

I checked with my copies of the forms and I had the address correct. I got several friends and family to go over the forms independently before I sent to look for mistakes that my wife and I could've missed.

I'm really not sure how the error came about (two letters got switched) because I thought that part of the application was entered into the system via the bar codes from form IMM1344 (I made sure to validate after my final revision).

Just received my AOR 1 ;D
I am worried if I will be approved or not based on the proxy marriage rule :(

Application Received: 29-Aug-2016
AOR 1 Received: 15-Sep-2016

Currently I am unable to find/link my application. I called CIC helpline on 12th Sep, 2016 and the officers said that I am eligible to apply under common law partner and she sent me emails with information about it. However, I was unable to submit online webform without application or UCI number.
I checked form IMM 5409 "Declaration of Common Law Union" but it says in the guide that it should be filled only if my partner is co-signer on application. He is not a co-signer.

Should I send it to them in webform today or should I wait for them to ask for it? I just wana be safe here to avoid delays and refusal. Please comment guys. Thank You

Congratulations. That's quick. Mine was received on 30 th August. Fingers crossed

My application received on 25th august and i didnt got aor1.
Till yesterday Aor1 received by applications sent on 18 august.

Can anyone share if they applied as common law partner from dubai? where can I swear Imm 5409, "statutory declaration common law union" form.

We are a muslim couple. will we be able to get this one signed?

On Sept 23 we will be leaving Canada for a week, wondering if there will be any issues getting back in? Any paperwork that we should carry with us. We applied OUTLAND so I do not assume that there will be any issue,

Thank you

Hi guys!

I just checked my ECAS today and it finally says DECISION MADE on the sponsorship application. :) Does this mean I'll have my SA soon? :)

Hi, I'd just like to ask when you login to ECAS, you use your UCI as the sponsor right and your information as well? I just checked myCIC and I've noticed that my husband's medical says PASSED but I don't have AOR1 yet. I've also provided my UCI when I've submitted my sponsorship application. Thanks!

Only you need to sign the form. If you are in Canada, take the form to any notary public and they can administrate the declaration for you. If you are not in Canada, take the form to any Canadian Consulate and have them administrated the declaration for you.

Your application number should be on the AOR1 letter.

I doubt my representative who did our application. The application was submitted from Canada early August but when we last called for update, my husband was told all they could see was that my application was received but no icu nummer or other up dates apart from asking for an additional $135 which they did not include in the agreement when we first approach them. My gut feeling is that they receive more information but are not in a hurry to inform us. I wished we had done the application ourselves. I wonder if I or my hubby can call CIC for information, what do you guys think?
Thank you all
