For me, ECAS is working fine. As for linking the application - no luck. I even contacted the CIC office who had an IT rep email me saying everything is good to go, and still if I cannot I may need to create a new account. Tried to link - Nothing. Created new GC Key on CIC website, tried to link - Still nothing.

Hi guys!

I just checked my ECAS today and it finally says DECISION MADE on the sponsorship application. :) Does this mean I'll have my SA soon? :)
I deleted my last response as was mistaken. Yes, you should have your SA soon. I received mine last week. Good luck!

I think the officer that created your file made a mistake somewhere that doesn't match with what you have. If you order your ATIP notes, you'll be able to see what they have on your file and can link your application. It could be a spelling mistake or something like that.

Thank you for this. I thought that may be the case and figured the IT person who emailed me would be able to see that. Just to be clear, I am entering the application number, UCI number and my BFs info as he is the one I am sponsoring. Just making sure that I am not supposed to be entering MY info (sponsorer). Can you confirm that I am doing that correctly?

Oh hell, China is sooo frustrating!
Due to the G20 just passing through this city we were unable to send out the CSQ application (Québec selection certificate) until now, and with a holiday weekend coming today was the only chance we had to send it out to MIDI in Quebec.
Simple enough, right?
In China... Wrong!
Via Fed-Ex it was a massive, not to mention intrusive, pain to send out the full Package to the CIC, but who else can we entrust with proper and timely delivery?
Well, we call Fed-Ex and they send someone our way to pick up the forms and right away, when I am about to start filling out the address slip the delivery man jumps in and states in Chinese "No, I can't read his writing", requesting my wife to fill out the application in its entirety. (For the record, my handwriting is fine, maybe more legible than hers, and the driver cannot even read English... or French).
Next, while filling out the address he shouts out another "No, No, No!" the address cannot be in French. He recognized it as french merely because of the accent marks upon certain vowels.
We had to write a fully French address in English. Well, my wife, who has no ability in french was expected to.
It had be in English or he wouldn't accept it.
So with the given time sensitivity, we had to write a poor mock up of the address and send it out, hoping it can find not only the proper address, but also the appropriate office.
Tonight we spend the hours tracking it.
So, if you are applying from China... don't stress the application, the logistics of actually filing your application with be the real challenge.
E-mail and phone complaints made within China resulted in little more than "Maybe the computer system cannot handle other languages (yet it can handle Chinese when shipping from Canada?)" and "Oh well" responses.
I will try to use Skype and call the north american hotline yet expect to find myself paying another $12.50 for "change of address".
Fed-Ex gets my thumbs down.
Anyways.. that application is out, and now, we wait again.

Thank you again. I will keep trying.
How do you order the ATIP notes? And is it even worth it? I mean, all could be fine without linking, right?

Try the application number, your BFs last name, and try both one and two for the number of people on the application if there are no dependents.

Thank you!
I had to send two hand written pages among the printed ones in the rush as my in-laws birth dates were reversed accidentally.
I hear nothing negative coming out of Quebec with the CSQ application so I am not too worried, so long as it gets there.

I'm happy to see things going smoothly for you as well.

Congratulations to everyone who got AOR1 and SA recently.

I finally called the call centre the other day, since the CIC received my application on August 5th and still no SA, and I got an agent that was really helpful.

First, she found there was a typo in my email address, so I sent a enquiry to get that fixed (although they still managed to send me my AOR1 by email back in August). However, she said that the CIC hasn't tried to send me any correspondence since then.

Also, she said that since I'm over the sponsor assessment time, she'll send a reminder to the officer that's assigned to my application. She seemed to imply that we should see a decision made "soon."

I also ordered the sponsor portion of our GCMS notes last week, so hopefully they'll help to shed some light on our delay. The sponsor portion of our application, at least, should've been a fairly straightforward case, so I think processing times can vary greatly depending on the officer assigned to a file.
