I hope Ottawa processes quickly like Lima!!

On a side note tonight my husband and I went to the US and crossed back into Ontario at the border tonight I was given a one year Visitor Record which allows me to live here while my application is processed. I still can't work but I was told I can cross easier without so many questions. It felt like a huge weight of my shoulders!

We just got the same thing as my wife's family is in Maine. They did not explain it very well so it seemed like it was a negative thing limiting travel, but as you say it should make things easier. Her's is only until the end of the year though, but it can be renewed in person at the border.

Just adding here that the ECAS has not updated its system to reflect new information for awhile now.

ECAS shows:
Submitted: 10/08/2015
AOR: 12/09/2015

But received an email with a letter attached saying sponsor approved and file transferred on 09/10/2015. I (sponsor) reside in Quebec and had to submit more paperwork so perhaps that is why there has not been an update in the sponsor side?

I told the border agent I was visiting my husband while my PR app processes and she then asked me if I rather live here during that time, I was like of course! She handed us a yellow slip and was told to go inside so we did. We explained to the agent what was going on, we were asked for a copy of our marriage license and a copy of SA. Luckily I carry all my PR paperwork when I cross. We waited about 30 minutes, there was an issue on CIC side in computer as I have changed my last name (to married)and passport since I applied for PR but once she figured it out she stapled the VR in my passport said its good for one year and it allows me to live in Canada. She said I can't work or study here but it will make crossing the border easier going forward for us. We live 20 minutes from Detroit so it's nice to be able to cross easier.

I am now wondering if I can cross everyday and work in Michigan as I'm a US citizen? I forgot to ask that as I was so excited that I can now say I live here.

Seems like similar paperwork. Not sure why they only issued ours until the end if the year however.

I would guess you can go in and out as you please with that documentation, although it could be a hassle if they keep making you go into secondary. However, that border sees many daily commuters. If I were you I would get a nexus if you are allowed to.

Not sure why hers is only until the end of the year? I was told if my paperwork isn't completed in a year to come back and they'll extend it, she even asked if I wanted to bring over and personal goods and car now she would help me. I'm pretty sure you're correct that the Windsor border sees a ton of people crossing daily for work so they are more aware.
My husband and I looked into nexus card application this weekend, I need to find out if I'm ok to apply while my PR app is processed.

hello folks? any good news? seem the process is slow as molasses. ??? ???

Nothing on my part. All I know is the eCAS only updates on Tuesday but I still check every business day in hopes that that is a lie. Am I alone here? I wish for DM and a good one.

ECAS can and does update on any day of the week.

Lemme know if u hear anything more from them :)

Still no Decision Made. I promise not to post this everyday :D. You know, I never got an email stating they received my application, but my girlfriend received an email stating they sent it to Ottawa and my eCAS states they received it and everything.

Baffled the average Ottawa time is 6-8 months (last time I checked).

wow congratulations! How did you get this visitor record? Did you have to apply? Did it cost anything? How can I get one lol? We're Ottawa too, hubby is American. We're going back to Ontario this weekend.

Edit* Oh never mind, I just read your recent posts. Damn, I probably won't be able to get one until I get SA. I'm still waiting for AOR1. Oh well.
