Congrats! I guess Ottawa is a hub for a ton of people. I am tempted to get a GCMS to see were we are at.
Hey, Baffled.
I ordered notes a few times waiting for my application to see DM, and I didn't actually see anything useful both times I ordered them. Go figure, right?
First batch I ordered was about 3 months after I applied, and it showed nothing but the SA approval and that the file had been sent to Ottawa. (I ordered them mostly because I had an address change that hadn't shown up in ECAS despite it being a month earlier. It showed up on my notes, which gave me relief.)
The second time I ordered them was 4.5 months after I applied, and it STILL showed nothing; there was nothing new from the time my application had received SA and been transferred to Ottawa. That batch was pulled October 14th (just over 5 months since I sent my application in). I went IP on October 9th, got a batch email request on the 23rd, and then got DM on November 14th. I say that only because
in less than 1 month, my application went from having zero movement to DM, and the GCMS notes showed none of it because it was pulled so soon after my request. (6 days after to be exact)
I'd wait another month or at least until you see In Progress to order them, else you might get some really boring notes like I did.
That, however, is just my pragmatic opinion. Sometimes it's a nice peace of mind to order them, and if that's something that'll help, then definitely order them. I at least slept better knowing that ANY progress had been done to my application, even though it wasn't the penultimate progress of them making decisions about eligibility, security, etc.
PS-- I plan to order my notes once my case is closed to see all the notes that I'd hope to see after previous GCMS note orders. I just want to see what they said for the sake of curiosity/get that catharsis of having GCMS notes that were actually informative. hah!
