If the letter you got requesting the new forms had a file number on it, then you are in process and not starting "new". If they gave you 45 days to send back the documents, then they are holding your place until they get the forms. Still may take a few days to put your stuff into the right file, but I don't believe anyone starts new if they have a file number assigned...

yes, i believe you are correct. They contacted me after 1 month and had temporary file number. Due to high application volume, it take them time to re-organize file.

I sent in my outland application August 13 and they received it a few days later. I still haven't heard anything back yet and it says on the website they are working on apps received Sep 8 Its not looking good . I originally sent my app in May but they sent everything back to me in August saying I was missing a form, which I was not they were asking for a form that was part of the inland application Package GRRRR it made me so mad because it was their fault and I had to update stuff and get to the back of the line and start all over. So I mailed everything back in August and like I said have heard nothing so far.. NOW WHAT should I be worried?

I wouldn't be too concerned. Have you tried to phone them? Our application was received on August 25th and we have yet to hear anything. When we called the person whom we spoke with said no news was good news. If the application was going to be denied then they'd refund you the money less fees and return the application within twenty days. So we were told. I've been working myself up and it gets me no where! Just TRY to relax (I know hard..) but you will hear something soon. From my understanding our application is still being processed and pushed through the system. The norm I'm hearing now is some people aren't getting any notification of SA...

CIC handled your application really badly. i never heard this before. Why they waiting so long to process your application. This is ridiculous.

So your telling me our file is on hold at the moment and as soon as they get our updated forms they will re-open the file right at that time and start processing it, i guess were not in the same spot of a completely new applicant then, we should hear from CIC within 2-3 weeks instead of waiting the actual processing times.

But when i called CIC, they told me when u re-submit a form its again 43 days from then, why is that?

So I checked my email this morning without any expectations, lo and behold a mail from CIC! Opened the mail in panic, cos call center told me yesterday they were still missing information on my file!(confused people ) To my surprise it was a SPONSORSHIP APPROVAL LETTER! Yayyyyyy! OMGsh! It took forever..so much that its hard to believe it's finally here! Am sure am gonna read it several times today at work!

Whooh! It happened! Time line..submitted Aug 6. Updated Sep 9. Approved Oct 29.

i guess they give 43 days so that they can have enough time to work on file. But hopefully we will both hear soon from CIC.
