CIC is no more accepting incomplete/un-processable applications. They don't want inventory pile up again, so any application marked as Received is not a return file now. It can be considered safely entered the main gate.
Now there may additional document request etc if necessary but that depends on the case.

Earlier they use to receive everything if the correct fee was paid and that is how almost half million applications are piled up there.

If we received email aor instead of E-case update, does it mean our application is in process and our package will not be returned to sender?

You may not see e-cas activated for a while as per some reports here due to some glitches in the new system; but your application is fine, no return to sender now. That stage is passed safely.

do people receive an email from CIC inform them the application is received ?

Yes, most of them are informed/AOR by email now but only when they start processing the file as "Received" not on the Canada Post delivery date. i.e. approximately 2-3 months from mail delivery date.

Thanks.. but what do you mean by "most" it should be all applicants ( except the returned applications ). Do you think they send to some applicants and other no.
How long it takes between receiving AOR and E case update?
what does AOR stand for?

It is reported that due to some glitches in the system new application numbering system (C000***** ) is not active with e-cas , so they are confirming through email.

So most of us who get email confirmation with C000***** application number are not able to see the active e-Cas until they fix the issues. If anyone is exception to this please report.
For others AOR - E-cas update is 1-2 weeks recently .

AOR stands for Acknowledgment Of Receipt.
When CIC receives your application at the office in Sydney, NS a VO will check it for missing documents and signatures. Once your application is found to be eligible the AOR will be send to you via email ( if you have provided CIC with a valid email address in your application ) or mail. The AOR will also include your file number.

guys how do you check your status on ecas? citizenship receipt number is a valid record, but system errors out saying it should be a numeric number. mine has a preceding 'R'

regards

Check with your client ID.

What is my client ID?

Your client ID, also referred to as a UCI, appears on all documents you get from Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). It is an eight-digit number that looks like this: 0000-0000.
Check your PR card or landing paper.

hi guys,,

I got my application returned today with the following reason:

-The Language evidence submitted is not on the list of acceptable evidence

I submitted the CLBA result that i used during my AINP application. sighh i will need to take the CELPIP LS and re submit the application.

My friend submitted his application with the CLBA result 8 months ago and his paper accepted and is now on process.

What is the email address to send an email to cic regarding citizenship application I am asking on behalf of my friend

sorry to hear about that, i know your feeling on wasting 2 months. CIC sometimes utilizing different standard on processing cases.
