We discussed this earlier. Could you get a chance to talk with your employer. Any chance they can transfer you to Ontario or other province?

Did you get a chance to discuss this with any lawyer there?

See, the operational bulletin for CEC says:

The CEC is prescribed as a class of persons who may become permanent residents on
the basis of their Canadian
experience and who:

-intend to reside in a province or territory other than Quebec;

If you have a residential address in Ontario (let's say 25 km inside Ontario) and commute to Montreal (im assuming) - would that work? Cuz it doesn't explicitly say you need to be working in Ontario too! I'm simply projecting this notion of residence from another stage in Immigration - Becoming a citizen. Residents who live in Windsor, Ontario but spend 8-10 hours daily working in Detroit, Michigan - are considered residents of Canada and their days are counted as anyone else living 24 hours inside Canada. So i wonder if similar rule applies in CEC too- that any amount of hours you reside in Ontario will make you Ontario resident.

Secondly - CIC just needs an intention. Again, you may want to check this point with a lawyer what would suffice as an intent of residing outside Quebec. An offer letter from an employer outside QC? A residential lease outside QC...just thinking loudly.

I'm just feeling bad for you that you waited all this time for CEC and now you will have to apply again.

Spoke to a couple lawyers they confirmed that rejection is most likely but only after CIC provides an opportunity to show intention and if they are not convinced. Also they said provide the following supporting docs,

1 Company's transfer letter
2 Evidence of searching for a job outside Quebec
3 Evidence of application to job postings outside Quebec
4 Evidence of seeking residence from realtor
5 Apartment Lease and job offer outside QC

Basically anything and everything that shows this intention to move outside QC.

Yesterday night I sent an email to ottpilot-immigration with scanned copy

1) Letter Of Intent to reside outside QC
2) Along with evidence for point 2 and 3 above
3) company Canada offices web page print out with Ontario address
4) Reference letter from Canadian citizen settled in Ontario.

But concrete evidence, address proof etc. can only be provided after PR or during landing.

My company do have office in Ontario. So I mentioned that I plan to request my employer to transfer me to Ontario and simultaneously searching for Jobs there as well. Employer has no plan to provide a transfer letter.

Most likely it may not convince CIC. My only hope is if they consider my above docs as some sort of intention and allow the processing to proceed, I may be able to provide more evidence on Landing.

I have applied my PR in August 19th and AOR received on Sep 23rd. I will be changing my wife passport to include my name in the passport in order to apply passport for my kid in India...

Anyone can tell me is there any impact of changing the passport when it is under processing...

Hi Kum,

There is no impact. But you may want to update CIC as soon you get the new passports for your wife. You simply need to scan the pages with name/details and the picture and send the email to cpp-ottawa.

Mkapadia, that's what we are here for. Experience and tell Bounce ideas with each other (before hitting the CIC with it), right?

Ok, so the lawyers have confirmed that the intention, as mentioned by CIC, translates into 'evidence of trying' to either get a job, residence etc. That's cool and that's what i had really thought it might be.

I am really hopeful that CiC will consider the latest information you have given them. Perhaps the only thing that might matter now is the dates of your evidences - like when you started searching/applied for a job, when did you communicated with a realtor. Was it before or after CIC made up their mind. I guess that will be critical. But in either case, they haven't finalized anything yet and I hope they have sealed the case yet. After all, you are giving your input in the economy and they should accommodate anyone if they are already willing to play by their rules.
