Cheers!

I'm in!

Well, I still need to land but I got my paperwork saying I have been approved and we couldn't be happier.
I'd like to share a bit of the story with anyone else who may benefit:
On March 1st my wife and I moved apartments. Every time we visited the CIC website to change our mailing address a prompt would come up to say that continuing the process would forfeit our ability to check our status on line. Naturally, we declined thinking the wait process would keep until at least June.
By the time we saw that a decision had been made in February we had already set up our new home with no forwarding system for the mail. Yesterday we were finally able to get a hold of our old landlord who told us he did have some mail for us. And a good thing too as you only have 3 months to follow up.
I was so nervous and excited but had to wait for my wife to get home to open it. It was good news. I'll got a trip back to NY booked for April and intend to land on my way back here.

Whats a nexus card?

a joint Canada-United States program designed to let pre-approved, low-risk travelers cross the Canada–U.S. border quickly. Members of the program can avoid long waits at border entry points by using self-serve kiosks at airports, reserved lanes at land crossings, or by phoning border officials when entering by water

Today marks 1 month since my husband has been landed as a PR! He's still looking for work, but he did work one day helping out a family friend with his contruction business, redoing a bathroom, so hopefully more days will come from that! Waiting for the PR card... hoping it arrives this week or early next week! (Should be here on Saturday, but since no mail we'll see...)

Everyone else seems to be coming along and I hope the whole process is wrappped up nicely, swiftly for everyone! The wait is hard, but oh so worth it!

Also, this past month, my husband and I celebrated 5 years together <3 (and working our way towards year of marriage in July!)

Keep your strength, your turn is coming soon!

That's a nice update to read... thanks for posting it!
I'm still waiting. As long as I can travel by August, and they don't ask for a 2nd medical, I'll be happy!

My hubby is landing tomorrow at 6:30 PM :) WOOT WOOT! Hopefully the rest of August moves along quickly so we can all be reunited with the ones that we love!!

Best of luck to the rest of you, and I'll try post some notes as to how landing in Calgary went :)

Congrats!! Enjoy it!

I thought I would be calm and cool waiting for my hubby to come out from arrivals, but then it was all I could do to keep myself from crying after not seeing him for over 6 months.

Ps. My hubby got his pr card on Friday, so it took 34 days from landing to card in our mail box.

Awe :) That is so fantastic. Thankfully it's only been 3 since I've seen him, it's our shortest stretch! Glad to know the PR will be here soon! Cheers!!

Congratulations! Is this now a quick issuing of the visa from your visa office? Or do they collect the passports early and hold them for a while?
