They also gave me Client ID, and i went online to check the status, but it gave me "error" message saying that based on info i've entered they were not able to identify the application...
Just to double check, this is the website where we check: https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/authenticate.do?app=ecas ??
And whose last name, date and place of birth should i enter - mine (sponsor) or applicant (my husband) ?

client id is sponsor information and application file number is applicants information.....

Checked our ecas using sponsors uci and sponsor is approved last october 22. whew! cheers! Good luck to stage 2 to all of us!

Yes, it sounds like it's just for people who submit their applications to CIC-M as of Oct 25th, but I'm wondering if visa offices will hold things up for us older applicants and make us sign a conditional status form before they will issue the visa. Thoughts?? As long as it doesn't hold anything up for my husband, I won't mind, but further delays will be frustrating!

It should not affect us. It said only for applications RECEIVED on or before October 25th.. ours were all received in August. I don't mind either if I get included, as long as we don't get help up with extra paper work etc. But according to the rules, we wont be included so we should not see delays. However, I think new applicants will see delays as new forms or whatever are sent out stating this new rule to them, etc.

Guess it's good we applied when we did!

I'm all for this new rule, it helps cut down on some of the fraud without causing applicants processing time to increase or making the process any more difficult.

It shouldn't change anything for us Augustees, but it's nice to see they're trying to make it easier for the people who are honest =)

*Waited nearly 3 months for friends/family to send notarized letters acknowledging our relationship.*
Paid all application fees 8/4/2012
Finally sent application out to Mississauga 8/7/2012 by courier & received that day (my FBI letter expired the day after that...whew!).
Received AOR 9/2/2012
Received spouse sponsorship approval 9/4/2012
*Still waiting on Ottawa*

I just called the Call Centre and our application was actually approved on October 16th ! They typed in my e-mail wrong and that's why i never got the e-mail they sent out! But oh my - what a relief ! I'm glad i called and thank you for the # again!

In the second stage AOR, it was titled with my husband's name (applicant) and it had info about the processing times for my visa office. It mentioned what will happen if an interview is required, how interpreters work, what I should let them know about if there are changes in our situation, preparing yourself for immigration (like employment, etc). That's about it. Good luck with your second stage! I think now comes my long long wait without hearing anything...

If you submitted your application to Mississauga on October 3rd, then what u probably received is either the AOR from Mississauga or the sponsor approval from Mississauga.

Waaaah!! I hope so but the message says, they've received our application 2012/10/03 just like that. Is that an AOR already?? Thank you.
